Huge thank you to everyone involved on this release, I couldn’t be happier with it, American Idiot was a significant album for me growing up. These One Step products have exactly what I want in Vinyl releases, information about the production and a quality mix/press. I’m glad the loudness war was mentioned as American Idiot fell victim to that pretty harshly. Out of curiosity, how do you guys decide which albums to put through this one step process? I’ve got cherished albums I’d love to see get similar treatment, I understand we all can’t just make requests though! 😂 I’d love to extend this discussion further given the chance.
@@stevewestman7774Love it! Thanks for that! Would you be able to bring The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance as a discussion for a potential one step? It’d be great to hear everyone’s thoughts about it as it’s an album in Warner’s archives and would be pretty fitting genre wise with Green Day and Linkin Park!
Another great stream Steve (it did cut off during Levi's DAC answer). I considered ordering the Green Day 1-step from BSM but the main problem with Warner/Rhino is that they send stuff through Whittier California, which is a death trap for products to Eastern Canada. The 3 Linkin Park 1-Steps were held at Wittier for 20+ days until it was determined they never sent them, now a Rush Box that I ordered from Rhino has gone through Whittier and looks like they outsourced it to the German post office, maybe sending it to the Netherlands (NL) vs Newfoundland (NL, CA). I am so done with Rhino from the States. As a side note, I did cancel my Linkin Park 1-steps and got refunded, but Tom, with his customer service eye, sent promo copies to me for free! He cares about the product, and these 3 are fantastic sounding records, so great job Levi and Grover!
Thank you for the great stream! An American Idiot AB shootout prob would be cool. If you want more new guests on stream, you might wanna check out Michael Fidler of Classic Audio in the UK. He's a young guy but makes phono stages that I've read good things about. I figure you might be interested in talking to an up and coming manufacturer in the vinyl scene.
Thanks for the breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Hey Steve. Just curious if there was any update on you receiving your new Rhino Doors box set. I just received my old vinyl collection from the UK, with over 30 odd Doors official albums. And the same number of boots, but curious to hear or see, if it is worth joining a long line of people, trying to order this particular set? Your opinion being one of the few I know I can trust, on the web! Cheers mate.
I am not really convinced 24b/192 is the way to go when there is a tape. Why not use the tape? Sure a 24b/192 can sound ok but I prefer DSD source….DSD does sound more like tape
I think there should be a rule for the Green Day “Dookie” preorders.. if you weren’t a teenager when the album came out, you shouldn’t be allowed to preorder one (it’s only fair) I wouldn’t want to see a bunch of UA-camrs with channels getting one just to review it and to get the views and just never hearing it again. That’s just dumb… Make it fair for the real fans of the album (me included) 😅🤔😎
These prices are a fleecing. Apologies. Elitism is painfull and apologies feel like a feint. I’ll pay for a great copy of Boys Dont Cry.- cheap copy of a great old but Linkin Park, Green Day is not UHQR treatment worthy; bias exposed. I hate being this negative. The reissue of Tom Petty Wildflowers would be hard to sound better and it didn’t cost a kidney. Look forward to Yoshimi and quieter Soft Bulletin as VMP was a bit noisy. I guess what I’m saying is that great records were made back in the 70/80’s without premium prices. Not all, but comparatively great, especially the RCA and their reissues.
I don’t have the Green Day yet, but the Linkin Park one-steps are amazing!!! 🔥🔥❤️ If it’s not your type of music or is too expensive, that is fine though, you don’t have to buy it. I don’t get the not being worthy of this type of release though. It just seems like you are expressing your tastes, which is fine, but some of us grew up with this music and we may love it the way you love older music. It’s not hurting anyone for this to exist I feel like. 🤷♀️
Indeed. Bias exposed. The product isn’t for you so don’t buy it, simple. As a Green Day fan, you’re wrong. No need to gatekeep because you don’t like the genre or the music.
Great Stream again, thanx. But i have a little note. As I have almost all of Cure's vinyl, I seriously wonder why this new album is being so highly praised everywhere. To my taste, the songs are all too synthesizer-heavy, mostly boring and bob along in a mushy way, as there is also too little playfulness and finesse to be found in the compositions. Maybe some people will like it, but it's definitely not great. Musically, this is a far cry from “The Head on the Door”, “Wild Mood Swings” and “Disintegration”. Another thing is the vinyl quality. As long as organic vinyl is not yet fully developed, spare us this lousy-sounding crap. Thank you, dear industry.
@@anthonyburke223 Everyone has their own taste and is welcome to have their own opinion. My opinion is that the only thing that is epic about this album is the boredom. There are bands where every album is praised by the journalists and the fans believe it. Another example is the band Coldplay. I fell for it again.

I’m so glad to hear about the Soul Coughing “Ruby Vroom.” That’s a record which some of us can only hope will be selected for a nice reissue 🎉
Can't wait for the audiophile 1 step G.B.H, Exploited, Germs, Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, and Nails records
🙏
Finally!!! 🚫AAA vinyl. Digital transfers are the way to go

Do we know when Dookie will be up for pre-order?
Sometime in January.
@ Thanks!
44/116? 44/ 16 bit?

What happened?
No idea?? Sorry.

That's one of the reasons this whole vinyl revival thing is going down the toilet.
