This makes me have hope for my situation. All my life my mom has been in and out of addiction and about 4 years ago she relapsed I was 16 at the time and I became an addict as well. My home became a trap house full of addicts and my mother became a person who I no longer know thats how bad the addiction got ahold of her. She is still using now and I am 19 and 465 days clean. Zoe, I LOVE that you and your mom are reconnecting. I didn't talk to my Dad for yr's after he left us for another woman. I called him when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and then we would send card's and what not but then my sister passed away unexpectedly and I called my Dad from the ER and told him over the phone and he came to her funeral. He lived in NC and we live in Alaska, it had been 17yrs since I saw him. I was terrified I wouldn't recognize him at the airport but I did. I begged him not to go back, I just knew in my heart it would be the last time I would see him again. Six month's later he was diagnosed with cancer (again) and sadly he passed away from cancer exactly 1yr after my sister passed away. I never got to know my Dad and share with him thing's as an adult, he only met 2 of his grandkids when he was here for my sister's funeral. It's been really rough and heartbreaking. I would give anything to go back in time so I could spend more time with my Dad and sister. 💔💜💙 Sending you and your mom hug's. 🤗 Sorry soo long.

Its definitely true that it won’t usually happen until they want it for themselves. I unfortunately lost my mom in 2020 at the age of 42 from addiction. She would always try to get clean for us, but never for her and it never stuck. Life is very hard without parents to go to. I lost my dad as well a year ago. He was homeless due to addiction and our relationship was ruined. I pray that you and your mother’s relationship continues to grow ♥️

Your mom really hit the nail on the head there. My mom struggled with drinking my whole life and it really messed up our relationship; there was a lot of trauma that came from that. In the last year my mom and I really. started building a relationship. My mom unexpectedly and suddenly passed away from a 5 day binger; I had to withdraw care on Nov. 7, 2022. I really do miss my mom so much.... I love that you guys have been able to build up your relationship and you now have her in your life.
I'm so happy for you guys!! I've been sober for 7 years now and I can relate to your Mom so much, I really appreciate that she's so open and sharing her experience, strength and hope! I still struggle with rebuilding my relationships with my Dad and brother. Unfortunately my Mom passed away before I became sober so I'm just praying that my dad will soften his heart towards me, but I know I put him through a lot of pain for 20+ years so I know it's going to take time. I can’t ever find a bra that works for me. So I buy the cup that fits and the biggest around. The I go over into the sewing department (of like a Walmart or Target) and they sell Bra Extenders. You need to know if the bra has two or three hooks on it. By one or two of them. As long as the cup size is right, the extenders help the part that goes around.

YES I MISS MY MOM SO MUCH!! She was exactly like your mom, she passed 3 years ago, I was 36. She just had stomach pain, went to the ER, diagnosed her with liver cancer and within a few months she was gone. It was the most sudden and devastating experience!!
