  • A nearly factory-looking Lotus Exige with JUBU 500 Kit and JUBU DCT eats up lots of Porsches, a McLaren and some Ferraris at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet. The car is fully street legal, but a monster on track. It’s really fun and easy to drive, the JUBU Dual Clutch System even offers an automatic mode.
    Car: Lotus Exige 500 DCT
    Tuning: JUBU Performance
    Driver: Marko Klein (www.sportfahrer.at)
    Laptime (with heavy traffic): 2:19:69
    Date: September 13, 2020
    Course: Circuit Paul Ricard

    That’s a proper Lotus Exige! The DCT was the missing part that was holding back all the tuned power, handling and lightweight of the car. The old manual transmission was terrible. Now, it’s a track weapon! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    Really impressive, the grip and the braking power of the car seems very high, nobody follows the rythm!

    Some great driving here. Driver deserves most of the credit here as there are cars plenty capable of putting up a better fight in this vid but he’s right on the limit. Good stuff.

    A good Exige, but also a driver that drives it peoperly.
    Most of Exige drivers do not know how to drive it( including the testdrivers of car magazines), thats why their potential is mostly not shown.

      I think lotus set up gives safe understeer, but makes them slower than they should be. Most people increase front camber

    • @rosseasson9441
      @rosseasson9441 3 роки тому

      @@markgtrheyes yeah it's true alright. I was surprised at the amount of understeer. Just when you think you've bought a car you won't have to mess around with. Like you say though, camber set up and decent tyres helps.

      @@rosseasson9441 I am running 1deg 20 mins at the front and has pretty good front end despite 205 tyres and standard ride height. Have fun fiddling with it!

      The other solution is to put 215’s in the front. Does the trick beautifully.
      That said I wouldn’t be so harsh on drivers skills. I know a lot of very very fast Lotus drivers!

    Is the car still on an open diff? Maybe an LSD would help with rotation on corner exit. Feels like inside rear wheel is pushing the car outwards

    What is the breaking system used? Which discs/pads/hose? And which tires?

    • @jubuperformance
      @jubuperformance  5 місяців тому

      Hi, you can find all brake system components that were used here: www.jubu-performance.com/en/shop/lotus-brakes-393
      The tires were Pirelli Trofeo R on JUBU forged rims. You can find these rims and tires here: www.jubu-performance.com/en/shop/lotus-wheels__tyres-394

    Too much understeer after worn down, what was that tire ?

    • @jubuperformance
      @jubuperformance  3 роки тому +6

      Pirelli Trofeo sport tire. A real good tire for the Exige, but as you say: when worn down, then it tends to understeer.

      Trofeos work pretty well on an Exige and last long. If they are worn down (like in the video), the car just tends to understeering.
