Completely disagree about the beginning. I've never seen the musical or read the book but was HOOKED from the start. This is by far the best movie of the year. Will 100% get best picture and Ariana is a favorite for supporting. Happy most critics and fans agree with me given the Rotten Tomatoes are over 90% for both
Fair warning the book is nothing like musical (it is 1984 set in Oz land) so if you like movie I would go to stage show next. Of course the musical will have spoilers about characters fates so be careful
