  • In this video I share a simple pattern for a romantic lace edging or trim, made with crochet cotton thread size 10 (such as Aunt Lydia's), which can be used for many different projects. For example, it can be sewed onto pillow cases, flat sheets, towels, etc. It can be used to decorate the shelves of a shabby chic hutch or it can be made into a bookmark. There are so many possibilities!
    Skill Level: Easy

      Very good question! Thank you for brining it up! I should've included it in the video.
      Since we started with a row of single crochets, we can also end with a row of single crochets. Simply make a single crochet into each stitch of the last row.

    • @OlgaPoltava
      @OlgaPoltava  5 років тому +3

      Hi Adelle, no, you can't just double the amount of starting chains; that won't work. But if you want to make a shawl/wrap/wide scarf, here are the adjustments for the pattern. Use the yarn of your choice and a corresponding hook size.
      Multiple of 12, plus 11
      Row 1: the same.
      Row 2: ch 3, turn, (2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) all in 1st sc (shell made), skip next 3 sc, **dc in next 2 sc, ch 2, skip next 2 sc, dc in next sc, ch 1, skip next 3 sc, (dc3-tog, ch 2, dc3-tog) all in next sc, ch 1, skip next 3 sc** across to last 6 sc, dc in next 2 sc, skip next 3 sc, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) all in last sc (shell made).
      Row 3: turn, sl st to ch-1 space of shell, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) all in same ch-1 space (shell made), **dc in next 2 dc, ch 2, dc in ch-space between next two dc3-tog, ch 1, (dc3-tog, ch 2, dc3-tog) all in next dc, ch 1** across to last 2 dc and shell, dc in next 2 dc, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) all in ch-1 space of last shell (shell made).
      Repeat row 3.

    can we extend this to make a shawl? Or we need to join every pieces to make one like mile a minute pattern?

    • @OlgaPoltava
      @OlgaPoltava  3 роки тому +1

      Either way would work. I think it will look very pretty if connected as mile a minute. But also the middle part of the pattern can be extended, though I cannot tell the multiple for the stitch from the top of my head, I would have to redo the calculations.
