I was driving to work the other morning and not looking forward to putting in a full day of work but this song came up on my playlist & it completely changed my mood. The power of music. The power of a great song. Love it!
Uuuuugh I’m an 82 baby, so I did get to grow up with good music…but I’d give my whole left side to have been a young adult in this era…the vibe, the fashion, THE MUSIC 🤩🤩🤩
I'm 73, use to listen to this on the way to work. Worked at night. Butterball, a Philly D.J use to play it on his Sunday Night live jams.I can't remember the name of the club.
Every time I hear this tune, it brings back memories of happier carefree times. Back then, it was, by far one of my favourite late seventies tunes... And still is! A timeless classic that just hasn't aged & still sounds as fresh as the first day it hit the airwaves! The guitar is absolutely fantastic, & with the great vocals, it makes this an Hall of fame moment! I still play this song to death even now, it is infectious!
I was 18 when this song was released and I still have some of the moves at 61...I would still give it a go if this song was played at a night club..Brilliant track..long live 70/80 music!!
its not just that the musicianship was at a significantly higher level and the vibe of the music so much more wholesome ,uplifting and life affirming ,rip real soul music
Un brano che ho trasmesso tante volte quando trasmettevo a radio Centro diffusione musica di Barletta . Tempi bellissimi e indimenticabili. Enzo da Barletta.
Great disco classic! Still love it. Used to dance to this tune like crazy when I was 14 years old..., today I'm 57 - unbelievable. That were happy times!
I'm so blessed and thankful, to have grown up in the Disco Era. There were so many brilliant artists and groups that, there were hits after hits on the radio. You basically, couldn't stop dancing after one was played, followed by another. We were absolutely blessed, to have lived through this beautiful era of music. Nothing will ever compare to that era ever!🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
They not only sing but play instruments fantastically they also spread joy and happiness Oh what an era so lucky to have been part of this HAPPY era when music was for the Soul!!!
I was a club jock in the early eighths thur the early 90’s. The best era for music . One jam after another coming out. There were so many great groups and single talented artists putting out the best music period. I’m so happy that was my era. I hate to say this but most of the music today can’t even come close to those days when they just put out one kick ass hit after another.
This was among the first songs I would hear (after the Saturday NIght Fever soundtrack). I was born during the week of 1975's annual #1 song - "Love Will Keep us Together" by Captain and Tennille. It's crazy that I remember this song from age four!
Which partner did the disco hustle dancing to that iconic "boogie-on-down" number that wants to make one get "funky?" I would have loved that GQ hit at 8 years old in 1979, but I could not go to any discotheques because I was too young to go there. Missed the era.
12 inch record is the most popular of Disco Nights by GQ. That's what I was mostly playing when I was 10 years old. That was in 1979.
listening to songs like this put a smile on my face and that beat in my soul. So glad I was a part of that era, the best music in the world.
Better believe it..
No Doubt---and this had a few more elements in it than the typical disco tune-like the chromatic movement and the hits on the and of 1 Abmaj7sus
♥️♥️♥️👏🏽👏🏽🎶💃🏿🎶👏🏽👏🏽
Me too. So much fun then. Clubs were great places to meet, mingle & dance to tunes like disco nights. Chic lefreak...great times!
This song makes me smile 😃 too
I’ll say it again and again. The best decade EVER was the 70’s. Beautiful time to come of age.
And the 80s
Such great music….still alive in 2024
