Cheers for another update. It's better than just giving an explanation of what happened, then disappearing until you're healed, which some people would do. Hopefully the recovery time isn't too long.

I had a very similar thing when I was about 16. was messing around with a 50cc bike off road. did a jump and landed with the handlebars hitting my right hip. my leg swelled up like a balloon for about 5 weeks. chipped my hip bone and still get bothered with it 35 years later

Ouch. Yikes. I'm not sure that injury fits to a standard checklist. You are in control of your health, not your GP. Which is not great and not how it should be! Get well soon 🙂

Only Spicy could talk for 11 about a bruise...
Jk, all the best and I hope it heals quickly. Nice tacticool redacted rectangle/paint on the old twig n berries. There's noo chance you nicked the artery and gave your self a pin hole bleed? Prob not hey.

I used to play random couch multiplayer videogames with my brother. Whenever our controls changed, we waited for the muscle memory of the new controls to be instinctual again before competing against each other. We called it 'the driver' analogous to a video card driver - a new software required for the old hardware to work on a new problem.
Now my point is - You operating a dr as if it was an xj - that was not forgetting something. That was a driver for a different hardware getting mixed up in your head. What's the difference between the two?
In general - controlling a bike by muscle memory is a good thing - that's what good riders do so they can focus their thoughts on other important things like traffic - nobody is keeping in their thoughts the process of starting a bike each time they do it. It wasn't you forgetting, because you were not expected to think about the startup process every time movement by movement.
Is it possible to have two bikes and not once in a few years confuse any part of one for the other bike? I do not think it is, I would not risk it, because from my experience of switching control schemes for games - every once in a while I would get a brain-fart and use some old key that was not in the current controls - despite me already feeling like the new controls are happening by instinct already. It time to gradually forget completely the old one so it doesnt randomly pop up anymore.
I am currently repairing an old scooter I will use as my vehicle replacement of a bicycle. First thing I will do with the scooter after its fixed is go practice which brake lever brakes which wheel for a few days, because they are opposite on my bicycle. And after that I want to not use the bicycle ever again - I am convinced that otherwise I would either crash on the scooter or the bicycle. Mixing up the different controls repeatedly like that is a no-no in my experience.
Your bikes are not that different - if its only the steering lock that is such an issue getting it mixed up, then I guess just find a way to make the two bikes behave the same way in that aspect.
So my advice is - do not rely on yourself remembering the start procedure - make the two bikes similar enough so that if you do switch up some part of controlling them - nothing dangerous will happen.
    Sorry for bad english.

You are thinking too much, I have done this once in 9 years of owning the bike, It is a statistical anomaly. Remember I review bikes so have been jumping from bike to bike, petrol to eclectic, manual to auto and so on for years. That makes it a stand-out odd thing that can happen but likely will not happen again. AKA Murphy's Law haha

2 thoughts.. have you had a blood test at any given point?, double checking for Sepsis AND maybe you've got an underlining Iron deficiency?. (Which would clause you to have excessive bruising to the area and why it's spreading so much). Your looking a little pale in the video.. hence the second thought. Best wishes dear fellow and hope you have a speedy recovery,!!.

It's good they're actually telling you things.
I've been waiting 5 weeks for a physiotherapy appointment just to be told yesterday, when I phoned the local hospital, that I'm not even on their list.
I've ordered my own walking frame off ebay and going to try it myself.
My surgery was 4 months ago, my fractured bone should be healed by now.
I usually speak up for the NHS, but they've been absolutely useless for me if I'm honest.

    • @ConfusedRaccoon
      @ConfusedRaccoon 11 днів тому

Only 4 months? My MiL was told 6-8 to a year(!), but she is old (74 or something). and I agree with you, I usually give the NHS all the praise, but sometimes they can really drop the ball. I really do feel for them with so little funding these days.

Can’t do any harm to take half an aspirin daily for clot busting just in case fragments break off the massive lump.
