This sounds more authentic than anything on his last few albums.
even though practically every song he's *ever* produced for himself was auto-biographical. "2 the sky" is the same as this one --- actually talks about looking to God for guidance & support... he always writes about his life . "MORNING SUN" is recent and was *not* written by him, however. and he did a Whitney Houston cover "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" and that's it. everything else HE wrote about HIS life. 100% auto-biographical. he says it constantly. so. he even said in an interview he's going to have to learn to stop being so honest in interviews lol
@@ibkristykat Of his last few singles (following the Paula album) I know Back Together was not completely written by him since he said so clearly in an interview, neither was One Shot, but I'm sure Robin wrote Morning Sun. In it, there are also specific references to his relationship to April if you listen closely, so you can tell he wrote it.
Of course, your main point is correct. Robin's work is significantly biographical and very personal. The most personally removed or detached he's ever been with an album was Blurred Lines and even then he was still involved in a lot of the writing and producing throughout and included a few songs specifically about himself like "4 The Rest of My Life" and "The Good Life"
Agreed Cameron. Did I say MORNING SUN wasn't by him? I meant the one he did with NIcki -- BACK TOGETHER... ??? idk what happened there. IDK about One Shot. I for SURE about BACK TOGETHER cuz in an interview he clearly said he didn't write it so it had nothing to do with Paula …. but yeah. for me though - I love his music no matter his personal life. even if he looks SO happy with April and I love them together. :)

It is different, but has a little bit of the same feel of his old song. Hope he returns with that same style.
i listen to every song he puts out, even those he collabs with on *their* songs (Like with Pitbull - "Badman")... i like his voice, so the majority of the time, i like what he puts out. i rarely *don't* like a Robin Thicke song. just me i guess
So sad how his career went down the drain after that Blurred Lines lawsuit
It was more personal choice to stay out of the spotlight, the lawsuit was pretty shitty yes, but what got to him more was the end of his marriage to Paula Patton and the passing of his father. I think he wanted to focus more on his family than making music, especially now that he has a new wife and daughter.
his REPUTATION got ruined. his CAREER was put on hold as he became better focused on priorities :)
