I remember the front spoiler on McHales car was almost worn through,the Prodrive boys said they had never seen this happen to an M3 before to any of the other cars they built and ran,of course it tells how hard McHale was driving
I don't think so because McHale was going for the win and when McHales in this mood very hard to match him,no disrespect to Vincent Bonner as he was a fine driver and the memory of losing to Bonner back in 1983 near the end was still fresh in McHales mind.

A great drive by. Bonner he really deserves to have one that year especially giving the drive he put up in a out dated car against 2 prodrive m3 cars

Indeed it was a super car Austin told me a good few years ago the manta 400 used a 2.0 diesel engine block as was stronger

i remember hearing that story alright,it was some battle that weekend.i wonder if bonner didnt brake the rotar arm he could have won u never know.
