  • Rough Roads Lead To Ghostly Town Of St Elmo
    After having been to St Elmo during the fall months, I vowed to myself if I were ever in the area again I would visit during the summer when everything is alive and open. On this trip, I just so happened to be passing through the area and decided to see what St Elmo is like during the summer months. You won't believe the difference!!

    Love old towns like this always such and adventure back in time. That is funny about thinking someone was in the window. In Williams, AZ. there's a hooker hanging out of the window waving possible customers in. Great music!

      They really are, and some have been recently worked on which has really secured them for many more years I hope.. I was very happy to see this place still looking so nice from when I was there a few years ago.. so many places fall to the wayside and deteriorate and this one is still breathing life and history!!

      LOL you are the first to wonder why I don’t have a rearview mirror don’t worry… It took some getting used to to drive without it because I was so programmed to use my rearview mirror for so many things. But the nice thing is the way that my side mirrors are set up they kind of serve as my rearview mirror now

    Another great video young lady. I really enjoy how you present the historic information behind places like this and the visuals so that we can get an idea at home or on the road of what they look like. Sharing that the road was also rough gave me some ideas that I probably would not take my full RV up this road. But I could take my truck itself and manage pretty well. Believe it or not in my younger days I used to do a lot of bumpy road driving.

    • @BunnyPlaysHere
      @BunnyPlaysHere  3 роки тому +2

      I think that is a smart decision.. there are a lot of bumps that would make it harder on an RV and seeing how much it tossed my small van I think it would be less headache to detach.

Stanton, NM, The TV series, "Ghost Hunters" filmed an episode there. Omg, when you said they chose a different name than Forest City, I flashed back to 2004 or 05 when I was car camping and took a raw dirt road outside Goodyear Bar and came out in Forest City. This was in summer and yet NOBODY was there. I stopped and was walking around when a huge dog came up to me. I love animals and so I bent down to talk with it and get some loving. A man’s voice asked what I was doing here. Scared me! He was one of the few residents of this “ghost town.” Since I was “dog approved” he opened up the museum and “his home,” which was the old meat market with the original murals and animal blood dripping down the walls. All of this while he was going down to Nevada City shopping. As a teacher I have a real love for history and that day I had this old town completely to myself of course accompanied by Bear the dog. As a photographer I was able to capture the town in its true glory! I think probably now it would have been developed and preserved like St Elmo as that was in the early stages as the citizens had just begun to restore it. Some of the buildings I ventured into were being propped up as the ground beneath was eroding. I LOVED the opportunity to see it and would love to see St Elmo now. If you’re ever in the Mother Lode country in Northern California I would highly recommend going to Forest City. Thank you again for a great video!
