So my dog is 8 years old now and if we go somewhere new or away from our 6 acre property, he stays with me but at home he bolts! Runs straight across the street to the neighbors and doesn’t listen when I call him… any suggestions?
Is the puppy you found in the Uber the same breed of the five or six black german shepherds?
@@SmoothOperator150my last dog was like that, thinks he knows when he can let his hair down. He would stay close out on trips but our normal walk route he'd take liberties.

@@illumitommy just drives me crazy because when he was a puppy and any time he’s on a leash we always walk the property line and then we go inside the property but as soon as he’s off the leash, boom! He’s off on an adventure 😂 he has 6 acres he can run and roam but has ZERO interest in his own property… appreciate your comment, at least I know it’s not just him…

I can’t wait to see your video about dogs that already has “learnt” to not come when I call her ( totally my fault), we were training when I first got her but due to some bad health things happened to me, I was unable to do any training with her for a very long time. And now because we have had to keep moving she runs away whenever she can. It is very scary and stressful 😥 for me. She is all I have now and helps me emotionally.

He's taking care of Rolex very well, but the Uber thing is just a made up story. This guy is a great dog trainer and I respect that, but he's lying for views which isn't right.

Why would you say he’s lying for views. Have you been to any of his sessions? Have you ever needed his services and got what you didn’t want? Zak George fan I bet.
@christinesorensen8050 Well, firstly it's extremely far-fetched that someone would just leave a puppy in an Uber- especially considering the fact that appearing to be a pedigree, well-bred show line german shepherd, he's likely worth 1000s of dollars (not that the price of a dog dictates how it ought to be treated - just in this particular scenario, why would you abandon the dog as opposed to selling him if you really wanted to get rid of him?) As well as this, it's even less likely that the puppy would be the same colour and breed as all of DD's other dogs. If this somehow did happen, the person who discovered the pup would give it to the closest shelter, not Dog Daddy. Rolex is from a breeder and there's no problem with buying dogs from good, reputable breeders, but lying for views is not okay. And no, I'm not a Zak George fan. I like DD's methods much more which is why I watch his channel- not for stories and lies!!
@@MicahTheRat10928 When it first happened I assumed it wasn’t real. I thought it was another kinda silly video he put up, like the ones where someone is ‘trying to steal’ his dogs, and ppl know he’s just creating entertainment. Then when it continued, and apparently the person wanted her puppy back - it seemed like he kept pushing it sincerely. I did notice he looks like DD’s other dogs but Idk anything about dog breeds and what they cost. I always get my dogs from the shelter so I’m not looking for hi-value pedigree dogs. Augusto’s following is already growing quite well and it would be unnecessary to lie to get more views. So, Idk - what you say makes sense, but I just don’t know. I agree that if he’s lying that’s wrong. He could’ve introduced his new puppy to us without taking this route.

She escaped last night after I posted this. He is 100% correct, when I went towards her she would run away, but when I changed directions, she would go in the direction I changed to....but I still couldn't catch her!!! OMG!! she frustrates me so much!!! 😡😡😡😡

@@evie12799 in this situation, try run away from her, when she starts going to you, go down on the ground with your hands and try to sound as excited as you can while calling her.. should go to your hands happy
@jirikolar8601 did that too...she absolutely will not get close enough for me tongrab her. Tried treats too, that worked the first 2 times....she coaught on quick....she's a Corgi. She's smart.
From Europe: Happy you kept the pup, disgusting how they left him in a taxi, I watched it. My pup, who is 4 this year I NEVER leash! I do not have to, I truly believe what you give out you will get back, with dogs it takes a little time but the effort is worth it!! PP: Still hate Prong collars, just put one on, give a tug, then tell me it is ok to do it to a dog?? NOT a criticism just my choice DD. But if it works, who am I to say. YOU DA MAN🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🌻🌻

Rolex is Absolutely gorgeous!! He is a very obedient and chilled puppy. Great video and makes perfect sense. I tried this with my stubborn 9 year old that sometimes hits the brakes and wants to walk in a different direction and she followed. Simple and effective! Love The Dog Daddy!

i've been using this to train my small dog, i do it in the yard gardening but i'm able now to use it on our trail system and giant field by a public works off a main road, he doesn't stop smiling. the litterral highlight of my and his day is going for our hour long walk now, what a good boy. an 8 yea r old maltese yorkie mix now a champion to other dogs in friendliness and recall, and i owe it all free to the service of the Dog Daddy, my little guy Griever thanks you. (i'm sure). he was avery good boy and didn't bark before i got him, just needed guidance walking.

I've had five dogs and they all followed me. I think if you provide enough exercise they don't need to run away from their owners to get their exercise needs met. I was walking a dog who I was watching for someone else and she slipped her leash. I had a moment of panic because she could go under the hedges and I would never find her. I walked away with the other two dogs and she followed me!
My children also always followed me. I was surprised when I was with other children and they weren't good followers.

Really appreciate these longer lessons. My Lab that I had from a puppy and was like this (maybe not quite as good 😊) and our rescued Staffy but a few months back took on a stray Lurcher. She is proving much more difficult, so these back to basics videos I hope will help.

This a great information. If you’re struggling with getting your dog to start to follow you, try a long tether and a tiny, high reward treat. Rinse lather repeat
