I made this for my brothers birthday and it was heavenly! The cake itself was so soft, moist, and sweet. The frosting was super perfect and was not to runny or sweet or hard! I just made this cake last night and it is heavenly and for those who are like me who had to convert the 3/4 cup measurements I just did 12 tablespoons and it equals out the same. And with the 2/3 cup for the coco powder I just did 10 tablespoons or you can do 1/3 cup and fill it up twice and that will equal the same as 2/3 cup.

Love how cheerful you are and how you explain everything well. Use some Wilton cake straps around cake pans, perfect flat topped cakes every time and edges of cake are nice and soft. Adds a couple/few minutes to baking time but makes a big difference! Have made this cake before, it's delicious!

I got confused with your cup-measuring system so my cake came out tasteless, then I googled 1¾, 1½ , ¾ in grams and ml's and did it all over again. Yeshhh (as we say in Israel for "yes there it is"), my chocolate cake came out just perfect now and the final result was amazing. Made this on Sunday yesterday and could not believe how easy it was to make. Thought it might be too sweet so I only used 1 3/4 cups sugar for the cake. Turned out fantastic. Love this type of cake. No fuss and delicious.
This is the absolute most amazing cake, aside from Costco Chocolate Cakes of course! When I make it I use a 9x13 baking pan and pour the frosting on as soon as I take it (the frosting) off of the heat! It's a lot of frosting! You may gain 20 pounds with one bite, but it's ok. Worth it!
Made this cake for New Year and this is the best chocolate moist cake so far. Did not use Hershey's but used Bendorps as alternative. So yummy! I also used hot coffee instead of boiling water only, and yeah, really made the cake tastier. Edit: I also have left over chocolate Frosting using the above recipe, it is so yummy! Just like a melted chocolate. Can be used as spread.
I've made this a couple of times already and it is the best chocolate cake I've ever had. The batter is very thin which may be why the cake is so moist & DELICIOUS! I tend to like chocolate cake with buttercream icing but I may have to try the chocolate icing too. YUM!

I just made this and OMG!!! It’s so decadent and moist! I didn’t have enough vanilla extract for icing so I used Coconut extract, it came out amazing! I will never use vanilla for the icing. Please make this cake if u haven’t!

I have scored points with this chocolate cake, i made it for the old lady i look after, but for the icing i used condensed milk, butter and cocoa,mixed all together and iced the cake. Thank you so much for sharing. Xxx
My entire family has always made the Hershey's cake and icing right off the side of the can because it is a family favorite. One day I melted my butter and I dumped in the cocoa powder and then the pure vanilla extract. I added in 2 tablespooons of the butter. It not only got melted but I turned up the heat from number 1 (low) to number 3 (medium). I stirred it as the temperature rose and it almost started to bubble. Once it started to bubble, I removed it from the heat I removed it from the heat and put it into a mixing bowl. I added the rest of the milk which helped cool it down and I whipped it more. Then I added the powdered sugar. Why? Now it became a cooked Fudge icing with very little effort. I Iced the cake and every single person that came to Thanksgiving dinner said "What did you do to this cake?" I said I cooked part of the coca and sugar so it got heat to become fudge tasting for a bit. Now THAT is our family favorite.

I’d suggest to put Hershey’s melted milk or dark chocolate in your cake batter and frosting to get that rich Hershey flavor

This is the absolute most amazing cake, aside from Costco Chocolate Cakes of course! When I make it I use a 9x13 baking pan and pour the frosting on as soon as I take it (the frosting) off of the heat! It's a lot of frosting! You may gain 20 pounds with one bite, but it's ok. Worth it!

Made this cake for New Year and this is the best chocolate moist cake so far.
Did not use Hershey's but used Bendorps as alternative.
So yummy!
I also used hot coffee instead of boiling water only, and yeah, really made the cake tastier.
Edit: I also have left over chocolate Frosting using the above recipe, it is so yummy! Just like a melted chocolate. Can be used as spread.

I've made this a couple of times already and it is the best chocolate cake I've ever had. The batter is very thin which may be why the cake is so moist & DELICIOUS! I tend to like chocolate cake with buttercream icing but I may have to try the chocolate icing too. YUM!

Hi there love this however I did something wrong Cz my icing was hard to spread and much darker then yours haha I cannot figure what I did and I did put a few more drops milk? But it was SO dark lol

I just made this and OMG!!! It’s so decadent and moist! I didn’t have enough vanilla extract for icing so I used Coconut extract, it came out amazing! I will never use vanilla for the icing. Please make this cake if u haven’t!

My entire family has always made the Hershey's cake and icing right off the side of the can because it is a family favorite. One day I melted my butter and I dumped in the cocoa powder and then the pure vanilla extract. I added in 2 tablespooons of the butter. It not only got melted but I turned up the heat from number 1 (low) to number 3 (medium). I stirred it as the temperature rose and it almost started to bubble. Once it started to bubble, I removed it from the heat I removed it from the heat and put it into a mixing bowl. I added the rest of the milk which helped cool it down and I whipped it more. Then I added the powdered sugar. Why? Now it became a cooked Fudge icing with very little effort. I Iced the cake and every single person that came to Thanksgiving dinner said "What did you do to this cake?" I said I cooked part of the coca and sugar so it got heat to become fudge tasting for a bit. Now THAT is our family favorite.
