Nobody should do this as they will get locked out, why? Well you set it up so that the lock out policy on the system locks users out, not by IP by user so when you logout and your machine is being hit by other users that fail to login then you get locked out fully and can't get back in. This is really bad advice you have given here.
They need to set up a policy to lock out and lock the IP that was trying to login not just a blanket lock out for that user
