That great ! wish I kept The DX 667 I had years back. It had all Japan pills. I have done one like that . but most pills dead. re did RFP 2979 and Japan 2290 at the time. has some tuning and bias issues . they tap off 2 pill bias to bias 1 pill driver. turned out needed 2 different bias resistors 1.6 and 1.8 ohm fixed un even volts. also had one with that feedback cap that looks like a diode go bad. lost a new pill because of it. it was ok until RF went threw it and over bias and blown pill . first time 2 pills blown. looking at cap had black mark inside glass from flash over. now I learned to check them . also had that 1.6 ohm go open and look good. now I got 1% 1 and 2 watt ones on hand. love them old ones. got OG hot plate, 1 pill driver, DX 500 . this time I keep . 73's
Do they still make the 2SD1446? Probably not but that was an awesome little transistor to use in a one pill driver set up. I was always able to get those things to do a little more than the 454 or the 2290.
