Did EXCATLY as described for the installation and worked very well on a 2005 Corvette no steering wheel controls. One thing not mentioned was the XM radio module and the addition of a SXV200 to make the XM mod work with the Sony XAV AX5500 which you disassemble the connector and use just the pin connection to the SXV 200 via friction and finally into the Sony. Overall excellent video to aid in the installation

All this after market stuff used today makes installs a piece of cake. i remember being a dumb 16 year old kid trying to get stuff to work in the 80s.... cutting up dashes, doors...lol. Thanks for the instructions. I have one question regarding the SWC two wires and the jack, do I need to wire them and plug the jack in the Sony head unit? I have wired and installed the head unit in my 2013 GS Vette, everything is working fine except the SWC, do I need to reassign or recalibrate only?
You will need to plug the headphone jack into the back of the Sony head unit and probably reset the unit so that it can recalibrate to the Cadillac. This is what I would imagine if that doesn't work I would get a hold of metra electronics technical support line
So you tied the purple and white from the PAC and the head unit together then spliced added the red wire that is part of the camera wiring. Isn’t that red wire just a way to signal to the head unit through the red wire to the purple with white strip that the car is in reverse? Isn’t that signal coming from the purple w/white stripe from the PAC to the purple w/white stripe wire directly… meaning the red wire on the camera wire doesn’t even need to be used?
The red on the camera is what powers on the camera. The purple with the white wire coming off of the pack pieces what provides the power in reverse. You also have to hook up the purple to white on the radio because that's what turns on the camera portion of the radio. All three wires have to be connected because if not it will not provide power to the camera in the rear.
I didn't see anything for the back up camera listed, Is this in your discription as well? Where are you located and when can I have it installed lol. One last question will the XM satilite still work as well with this install? I lose nothing and gain everything...cool!!

2 weeks ago I had this exactly unit installed in my C6 and it flopped. The Bluetooth cuts out and it doesn’t hold an Apple CarPlay connection long. I was told I more than likely have a bad unit. The shop ordered me another so I’m waiting for the csll. I really want to like this head unit. I hope the replacement works accordingly.
We have sold probably close to a thousand of these head units and never had an issue. I have had a few customers bring in radios that have had issues so it could be where they're giving them from.

Replaced factory radio in C6 Corvette with a Sony AV Receiver. Great backup camera view, Google maps, hands free calling, etc. You connect with your smart phone..
You lose the HUD capability of showing your navigation information like it can from the stock OEM Bose with navigation. The HUD still works fine showing the speed and all the other settings.

You will need a USB extension and you can really put them anywhere you want

Yes read the manual on PACs website for the module used for your car and it will tell you oem functions retained.
