Best video so far covering grimcoven. Full gameplay and a lot of details. Thank you! How would you compare it to Oathsworn or Primal if you played them?
Appreciate that! I’d say it’s a completely different challenge and stands on its own very well. Movement and positioning in Grimcoven is key. Also being aware at all times of all the nasty effects coming from the enemies is needed. All three provide a unique take on boss battlers and one doesn’t cover another imo.
Wow, leveling up was so good, no wonder the first game was a struggle, great game Adam. I can’t wait to get this and try all the different hero’s and Villians.
Getting that lament for the minions is key to get the engine going. Other bosses will make that effort tougher and throw out different strategies to mess up the strategy I used!
I have a suspicion that there was only two yellow dice because they’re specific to the technomancer and as such can probably only be gained from start of game and when the tech corrupts and not from evolution
It’s also a prototype, so the number of components aren’t final in terms of what was sent. I had one yellow to start and gained two through game effects. So all good!

Great playthrough. But I thought you had to do 2 actions with one character, then 2 actions with another and sp forth? That would change a few things i would think as some of timing may not work out. But this was the first playthrough that showed chewing through the boss cards. That was really nice to see. And 'grats on the win!

Questions: 1.) The Range 1 attack that the Gunslinger has, don’t you need to be 1 space away and not at 0 range? 2.) Once you get 20 XP, and a full bar, don’t you lose control of the Hunter and they start fighting against you / other players?
Hey! Thanks for checking out the video. 👍🏼 1. That will be corrected in the final version. 2. Corruption deck dictates how you behave with different levels of corruption. So if I had of been at 20 for longer than you would have seen even more madness occurring. I avoided that at all costs. Timing on corruption increases is key.
Nope. 0-1 range is what that attack should be. So being in Range 0-1 is valid. Of course anything could change in the final version beyond this. Things are changing even now as they gather feedback from videos/comments etc.

It seems like fun gameplay where you have position yourself correctly for different gun ^^ There seems to be none or really few multi target attacks, so a sniper rifle gun card where you can only use it on +3 range and you have to lay down (can't move prior or after the shot) that deals piercing dmg, so everyone in line takes dmg would be really cool

Are you sure you can stack dice like that to mimic a double symbol? The reason I’m asking is that the armor upgrade you got had a double gear or 2 cleanse. Maybe it’s because there isn’t a double cleanse but they could have made it more clear I think and a double cleanse cost even without any dice like that would be more clear to read rather than them being separate.
Excellent playthrough of the prototype, probably the best I've seen! Question: at 37:22, you cleanse the Gunslingers Hunger status effect. From the other sessions I've watched, they say Hunger is the only status effect that can't be cleansed, or have other channels been playing it wrongly? (Edit: This happens at 42:27 with the Technomancer as well.)
I followed the cleanse rules as written. There are two spots and the ‘cleanse step’ you cannot get rid of hunger. As an action in the hunters turn you can with your dashboard action.
i think somewhere i saw that tornados aren't affected by the river, just enemies and hunters? and i think you need to discard a die or use an action to trigger the carriage?
Hey! Hope you enjoyed the playthrough! The tornado is considered an ‘enemy’ for game effects. Confirmed by AR. So that was played wrong elsewhere. Yes, you must discard a die with a dagger icon. Cheers!
Congratulations on your victory :) Noe you make it look easy and not very challenging. Do you think that when you know what to do, what to focus on etc., this game will be much easier now each time you play it? I also noticed what peaople complained somewhere, that most of the time it's better to choose dice, not one of the cards. Like, the cards are interesting, but not so much as extra dice which is not good design I think.
Thank you! 😄 If I was to replay the boss, the environment cards change the strategy, the boss cards will come out in a different way. There would be a different final card for the boss. There’s quite a few things behind this that would change the play and require a different strategy to win. Characters used have an impact as well. It’s a balance choose dice all the time and you can’t use them all. So you need to decide when to get more out of your turn dice wise vs being more effective with your turn cards wise. Focusing on only one isn’t a strong strategy!
@@RollingSolo Thanks for response :) I know you are a busy man, but can I ask you something? There a couple of playthroughs and I haven't seen all of them, but what I saw no one used General as a boss and Duality as a Hunter. Can you tell me why is that?
The Convergence was an just above normal difficulty Boss. The General is more advanced. So it made sense to show a standard boss vs something higher on the difficulty side of the equation. Hopefully that helps!
On your first round, you used all 4 dice on the Technomancer, before doing anything with the Gunslinger, should they not take turns doing two actions each.
Hey! Thanks for watching. When playing the ‘solo mode’ of the game (which I was showing off), the second character uses a streamlined board with no dice. It’s awesome and keeps the flow of the game moving without getting bogged down. Nothing stopping you from controlling any number fully but there are rule differences which I showed throughout these videos in how the ‘deputy’ character works.

Retroactively should never be used in boardgames..... But thanks for the gameplay, good overall playthrough. I hope they retool the lament upgrade spacing which should be quicker pace the higher you go rather than less. I also think there should be less choice when it comes to choosing a dice, or upgrade cards because it takes away the use of the cards. Should be more chance based.
Thanks for watching D! Nothing wrong with a retroactive change. It’s a video meant to help people see the game in action to make a decision on it. I personally like the evolution step and what it allows strategically. Depending on the boss I might go one way or another. Leaving it to chance more would take away from future planning and when dice is already involved, you need a way to keep things balanced towards what you want to accomplish. That’s just me tho! 😄👍🏼
Well Played sir... My only concern is that you really don't seem to have time to interact with the environment seeing as you need to keep on the enemy. What say you? Maybe with like 3 or 4 players those might be easier to take advantage of....
I wouldn't say that. I could have delayed and interacted with the environment on a few turns. I was just very focused on taking down the boss. The early game with this boss is major. You have to be effective from the jump. Other bosses will have different timing and strategies to use too. I did get to interact with everything except the Witch Hut and one other enviro card. Would have been fun to interact with the Witch!
Eh, looks interesting, but I'm skipping everything Awaken Realms until they stop with the AI art shit. I'm not paying 100 euros for art someone didn't even think was worth making.

I feel like there statement on ai art was very valid. They use it for concept and prototype which makes sense since it’s only for testing and sampling. The final product every piece is worked on by artist which they have a team of 15 artist and just added 6 more. Personally I feel like they’re using the ai tools pretty morally and we’re very clear about it.

Because when you spit a prototype illustration with AI, you are kind of stuck with the concept since you showed them to people and they expect to see that design in the final product. So, even though they are reworked later on, AI still imposed the overall direction. The initial concepts are made by the AI.
@@lexmachina8961 yeah but it’s not just Ai in the prototype it’s Ai tools they use based on there art and concepts and then they tweak they’re own art throughout the campaign with the final product being all by artist. Ignoring AI tools is buisness suicide at this point and about every single company has to use them now in some capacity at least AR is going about there way to try and do it as ethically as possible and are conscious about AI art. AR is getting singled out lately because it’s a big company solely but its handling the emergence of AI better then most and has a big team of actually artist that continues to grow.

Yes you can! As per the prototype rules.
Double icons can’t be split. So you if you use it for a single icon, the second is lost.

I think there are two types of cleansing and you cannot cleanse hunger during the first cleansing opportunity, but you can in the second.
