And I think my Sunfish was small when I load it with camping gear for a trip and videos making. Ha. Now I want to see yours out sailing. It looks like you even have plenty of room for gear!
Very cool boat indeed! I havevread all the comments below, most interesting as well! Question I have is the bolt on keel you mentioned, is it weighted? If so how much weight?
the rudder is a gibson les paul guitar, no ukulele! ;-) the design was inspired by stevenson project boats, but modified for my use. it´s no racer, the sailing performance is...hmm...let me say good enough for me.
Wow, very impressive! I myself am creating plans for such an endeavor. Much more basic, however. A 10 ft (3m) scow. My dimensions are comparable to yours, and I was wondering if you could answer several questions. 1) What was your work-space. From the images provided I gather you are not in a garage or a shop. Are you just in your house? 2) What kind of plywood did you use? I've seen marine plywoods, as well as a plethora of plywood made from different types of wood. Wat did you use, and if you were to redo this would you use the same? 3) How much does it weigh? Transporting this thing will be an issue for me. How much does it weigh, and how do you move it about? 4) How did you seal it? I think I saw some fiberglass and epoxy. I know it is possible to use silicon sealants, not unlike what one would use for a bathtub. And that's it, thanks!
you might find marine ply wont be that expensive. In the UK as an example if the ply meets the BS1088 standard then its good qaulity. Beware of some of the EN standard ply. Its total junk, the glue wont tolerate water...its utter crap. As for glues and stuff? most of the polyurethane glues you can get are very good. Epoxy is the ideal though. Do some research on things like 'fillets' and such like, to get an idea of epoxy work. You can build as cheap as you want, or spend a bit more and get a longer lasting boat.
I would recommend staying away from fiberglass over wood structures for boats Wood moves the glass doesn't and eventually your glue will give way Beginner boat builders should look at this method ua-cam.com/video/mCeeJLcrwQE/v-deo.html
do you have a set of General boat dimensions perhaps even diagrams? also how long do you think the boat would need to be for you to sleep and live in it for at least 2 days? do you believe 15 feet would be sufficient for one person also I'm curious about the height of your Mainsail?
hello, it's a wonderful little boat. I'm restoring a 10ft mirror dinghy at the moment, unfortunately, i am unable to re-varnish her as I have had to patch her. as a result, I have decided to paint the hull green and the inside white, as this is the color scheme of your fantastic little vessel, would it be possible if I could have the color scheme you used and the type of paint? thank you
Hi, thanks for your compliments...the green colour is RAL 2006, and the white is called in Germany "Elfenbein-weiß", which means ivory-white. I used simple 1-K-Paint espacially for boats, I bought at ebay. Painted five times. Greets
There are several ideas for constructing boats: Give yourself enough time. Use done for you boat plans. (I discovered about these and more from Denelle boat builder site )
Hi! Und natürlich learning by doing!
great little boat that inspired me to build one in the sitting room now I just have to pull the window out and wreck the wall to get it out
the world needs more boats
Nice build. Like to see her sailing
Ponyo auf der Klippe goes sailing! Awesome drumming, Walt! Greetings from Mexico.
Very nice. Much like a Stevenson Weekender in construction but, smaller with so much more detail. Well done.
I like it
what a beautiful little boat, I could see myself on it traveling across Europe.
So cool 😮

A masterpiece. This is not a toy.

Cute little boat. :) But how do you manage close hauled courses without keel, sword or leeboard?
Indeed, that was a Problem. I attached a removable keel with bolts, and now it works pretty well.
awesome build,how does she sail?
Nice !
Awesome
She's lovely!
Cute little gaffer. I liked the decorative work around the mast partners. How long did you say she was? It was up and down so fast I didn't catch it.
hull is 2,5 meters, including bowsprit 3,3 meters. Long enough to Sleep inside...

Very nice!
I d like so much ti do the same ... how have the plan ?

Any chance you have the plans for this
Spectacular. 🇦🇺👍🍺
👏👏👏👏👏👽
how long did it take you to build that boat and is it possible for you to sleep on the boat or in the cabin?
It took a couple of months but I can´t number the ours. many...
I can sleep inside the boat quite comfortably. Half inside, half outside the cabin.

👍🙂👍
Who sails it. A little kid in a pond? That would have been cute to see.
I sail it. It works...
Do you have plans I could buy?
sorry, no plans...
Nice build, but I have to ask, WHY ? To small for any purpose.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👊
Hallo!
Und natürlich learning by doing!
how can I get your plans?
probably should have coated wood with resin before assembling so theres no future rot
What are the dimensions of the boat.
its 3 dimensional
What's this style of boat called?
A pocketship or microcruiser.
you have the plans ?
Sorry, no plans. I just started to work without plans. I only had the inside dimensions of my van...
thanks your boat is a very well
3:35 that's not stitching is it? If so, what's with the crazy wave form lol
just a quickly made testsail...got new sails made by a sailmaker.
similar to Stevenson project - daysailer
What an irritating noise, a useless substitute for an informative commentary. Why?
