Just to clarify, Wath marshaling yard or Wath hump as it was known didn't start at Manvers. It started at the old iron bridge on Moor Rd and stretched west all the way up to Broomhill or Elsecar junction. @ 5.33 that's wath yard looking west to Broomhill from the iron bridge, (I believe there's a blue bridge of sorts in roughly the same location now). Looking to the top left where the large electricity pilon is you can see the old diesel sheds below it. On the right is the electric sheds where you can see the lines of class 76 loco's, wath main pit tops and Wath ings.
both Manvers main & Wath main did have sidings of their own but they we're separate to Wath yard.

Good video of my birth place.
PS You don't make Anthracite, you mine it. It's the best sort of coal out of the 4 types, but also the rarest.

Hi ,I am doing an Geography project on Manvers and it would be useful if you could answer these questions. Do you think the regeneration of Manvers been effective? What kind of image does Manvers portray such as is it positive or negative?.
