Are moths or other critters able to get into the totes? I have mine stored in totes as well after freezing them. I was told by another Beek that the moths can still get to them.
The moths will still get in them until the area gets cold enough to freeze where you store the totes…I’ve tried it…Paramoth crystals is the remedy…until it gets cold….
@@surferay6969 I live up North and going start beekeeping this Spring. So excited. Trying to get my hands on some. Learning this is an important tool. Any suggests on how to get your hives to work the combs just to build a surplus? I know I have to start with what I have and would prefer drawn comb over honey the first few months or year. Did that make sense?
what if you have a little honey, pollen or nectar in the foundation on frames?? as long as you freeze them a few days are they good for winter storage?? thanks
But what do you do with the boxes that hold yout frames ? They still need to be stored properly.
TopMar Ranch Adventures & Giggles Store them out of the weather either under a tarp, shed or garage

You’re welcome!
Wax moths will only go after brood and pollen frames, not honey frames.

Do you put the frames in the bins while still frozen or thaw them first? (New beek, sorry if that's a dumb question.)
Patty McCann Hey Patty the only dumb question is it the one not asked! Straight from the freezer into the bin
@@surferay6969 Will they mold from condensation?
Patty McCann Yes straight from the freezer into the Vince can you make sure there’s no pollen in him otherwise you might have a problem with mold

natserog It’s best to leave those ones in the freezer because they could ferment and or mold or stick them onto a strong hive
@@surferay6969 thanks...i was wondering about fermenting. --so only dry comb only you should store right?
Thanks. Good idea.

Welcome!
