Hayagriva Kapila Mohini and other avatars of Vishnu are not considered in the Dashavatara and are given lesser importance

There's more to the story though..
Madhu and Kaitabha were born from ear wax of Vishnu and when Vishnu later kills both of them, he smashes their body which turns into 'gut'/meda and then earth was formed. That's why earth is also called 'Medini'
