I have a lot of nostalgia for both Poképark games but I can see why people wouldn't like them. To me, they're just simple, happy games to play when I'm feeling down.
Yes. They're the only games I enjoyed simply because of the atmosphere. Like... Falling asleep to the ambient ice or flower zone music with the wind blowing in either one of them. It's amazing to me. Or the "taintet" zones in 2, it's a game that isn't meant to be taken like a serious gamer, but a casual one that just wants to enjoy a simpler game that, yes, is more of an experience than a game.
As a huge fanboy, I got a lot of mileage out of this game. I agree that it's shallow. I recommend it mainly to people who like the idea of running around in a nicely made 3D world and interacting with Pokemon, and are fine with not having deep gameplay mechanics. If anyone's looking for a more involved Pokemon spin-off, I recommend the Mystery Dungeon series, particularly Blue Rescue Team and Explorers of Sky.
I'm sad that you dislike this game so much, it gives me a nastalgia boner just thinking about this game and so I personally LOVE it. I spent like, hours on this trying to get every friend.
Pikachu in Pokepark is more avid at adding friends to his friend list than a lonely teen on facebook, trying to make themselves seem popular by having hundreds of friends they dont really know.
Uh no, PokéPark does not suck, and I desperately feel the need to explain why. The game isn't supposed to have some sort of deep meaning or be complex. It's simply about making friends with Pokémon. I don't see how that's such a bad thing. And I cannot stress this enough: don't forget that this game is meant for *seven year old children.* Kids aren't going to care that the "friendship is power" trope is bland and overused; they just want something fun and easy to play. The problem here is that you're looking at a children's game through the eyes of an adult. I don't fault you completely though, since most people tend to raise their expectations of Pokémon games a little too high, especially those who grew up with the franchise that let nostalgia cloud their judgment. But it does make me mad to hear people say that games like this are bad when *they're* not the target audience. There's a difference between not being in the age demographic and a bad game. Believe me, Sword and Shield has taught us that much. Anyway, having played through this game when I was younger, I can say that it is a game that kids can enjoy. Maybe it won't be entertaining to adults, but it isn't really supposed to be.
Idk man I still have a ton of fun with this game. Like you said it's a simple game and that's just the role it fills. Not every game needs to have the gravitas dark souls has or deep mechanics like zelda or well written lore like hollow knight
Agreed. While I can agree that Pokepark is a bit simple and shallow gameplay-wise, that doesn’t mean it isn’t fun or enjoyable. I still find this game fun in a comfy way. It’s the kind of game I can sit down to on a bad day and listen to an audiobook or podcast and just relax with the pleasant scenery and easy gameplay. I feel the same with Kirby’s Epic Yarn. They’re both just feel-good games.
That is not how opinions work ffs I feel some of you just click on a video to whine about a different opinion someone has. The game sucks to this specific guy, and you don't get to go "uh no..."
@@theoveranalist6381 yea, like why does he try to compare the minigames to mario party minigames in this review or something, like, they're singleplayer minigames, not multiplayer ones like mario party, and they're also not by the same developers. people need to stop comparing perfectly fine games to other great games and thinking "yea hmmmmm amiibo festival needs to be more like a good game like hades actually" or something dumb
The nostalgia I have for this game is unreal. I think it's a very fun and wholesome game as long as you're not expecting a dedicated Pokemon title with deep gameplay or story. It's definitely aimed at younger players, and that's ok. If you're looking for a cute game where you explore a pretty 3D world as Pikachu interacting with other Pokemon and playing goofy mini-games, I highly recommend it.
i enjoyed the pokepark games. they arnt really challenging, but they are an enjoyable ride if you are in the right mindset for it. It they are easy games to complete (though the sequel is harder and more fleshed out with less minigames, but the post game legendaries are a bit more worth their prestige) and i will admit, it's nice to play a game with no real stakes to the story from time to time.

DoppelDragon - Butters Even if it is a game for kids, it still doesn't mean that it can't be good or have more expanding thought out concepts. All of the other Pokémon games were aimed for children as well and not just for the older demographic. I also liked this game as well and its sequel.
I like to consider it a game to play when you're anxious or stressed. Because it's one of those colorful games that will, at least for me, completely fix your anxiety problems. There is literally no stress in these games, you just fuck around with simple yet cute tasks, and maybe finish the game in a max two hours, unless you're generous enough to keep making all the friends possible. Good for adults if they wanna try it, great for kids if they wanna engage in it. It's just cute.
I kinda like the sequel to this game because having an actual inhabited world with pokemon you can see is really engaging and interesting. I love seeing loads of water pokemon just swimming around in rivers and lakes in the woods or some hanging from trees etc.
okay, you can say what you like about this game as an adult, and there's always the ever-present argument that kid's games should also have values that can be appreciated by adults too, but you cannot deny that watching a member of the game's actual target audience excitedly running around playing and making friends with their favorite pokemon is one of the sweetest experiences on this planet I mean, assuming they're a younger sibling or relative or something. probably wouldn't go over so well with a stranger's kid.

Poképark is definitely one of those games that you could only like if you feel nostalgic for it. I still love it to death tho. For me, the draw of Pokémon isn’t the battle mechanics or making your Pokémon more powerful or anything like that, it’s the Pokémon themselves. I’ve been an avid animal lover since day one and I’ve always especially loved animals that don’t exist. Combine that with my current love for character design and my tendency to become stressed by small things (like a Pokémon battle and especially a gym battle) and you’ve got someone who would love the spin-off games way more than the main series. A cute, simple game like this where you can play as a Pokémon and befriend other Pokémon is absolutely my cup of tea, but I’ll always like the sequel more because of how much I enjoyed the story (as crazy as it sounds).
