I'm glad I found a good secular curriculum for my daughter. There wasn't much in the way for secular homeschooling when my mom homeschooled me so I'm so excited!
I love your approach to teaching your girls. It’s so natural and go with the flow type style. I agree with the over emphasis on handwriting for young kids. Our child learn and grow so fast so there’s no need to push them into things. Hope this finds you well. Hagd!
I want to thank you so much for Blossom and Root! I too thought I was going to have to develop my own curriculum, then I found yours and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. We just made the decision to homeschool our soon to be 4yo and bought Vol. 2. Can’t wait to get started!
What a beautiful video. 💗 I love the idea of doing activities related to the letter...brilliant! I'll definitely be checking out your curriculum. I've been using one that has a similar philosophy that's called A Year of Skillful Play. 😊
This was a beautiful video! I learned so much just from watching what you do with your kids, and honestly I can't wait to do this with my kids too, it seems like so much fun! Just one question: In the winter when it's really cold/freezing outside, how do you get play time in nature for the kids? Thanks so much! I'm going to be purchasing your curriculums!
Winter is hard for me, so this past year I invested in better quality gear for us and it made a huge difference. We spent tons of time outside and it was wonderful. :) When I shot this video, we lived on Maui, so it was easy to be outdoors without any special preparation. Since we've moved back to Colorado, it takes a bit more planning in those colder months. We're still pretty lucky here though. Even in the winter, it's sunny most of the time and the snow melts quickly.
My little one has just turned 5 and does not write or read yet. Is the 2nd volume still good for her or would you recommend a different one? She is currently in a private Montessori but we have lots of breaks for various holidays and I want to have some structured time with her. Thanks!
I have the same preference of not pushing writing in the early years. However, there is ample research that I have come across (while working on my masters) that writing and reading feed of of each other and move each other forward. Writing can actually accelerate reading.

I needed to see this video to help me not overthink the curriculum.
