I’ve already had mixed feelings about Shikamaru, especially since he once expected Naruto to let Hinata sacrifice her marriage to Toneri for the sake of the village. His logical approach always involves some form of sacrifice, unlike Naruto, who strives for solutions where both sides come out victorious.
It's at a point of no return, IMHO. Even if Boruto pops up, he's also gonna' try to eliminate the Shinju to save those who're stuck in the trees. That's just my 2 cents, but it is logical if Boruto simply just cut the Shinju all down.

Yes. There has to be consequences for locking Naruto away, this is one of them. Jura’s name sounds like judgement. This is probably a final test. They’ll fail without Naruto and likely end up under his thumb for eternity.

They’re May be 100s of them and they will attack the village first. Capturing Shinobi turning them into shinju who follow juras orders. Power will be the only thing that matters to them and kawaki will adopt that philosophy.
The problem is that Naruto's approach wouldn't have worked here anyways, and he would've viewed the Shinju the same way he views the Otsutsuki, as hopeless unsaveable monsters. The fact remains that Jura did kill several Leaf Shinobi, and others were sealed into trees and turned into Shinju. Matsuri has to die to recover Moegi, same with Hidari for Sasuke and so on. There is no avenue where they can change the Shinju for the good, because the Shinju's very existence breaks the laws of nature, they can only exist because others have been killed or sealed away. Ryu has to go down to save Shinki, thankfully nobody cares about Bug so Mamushi is in the clear until his dumbass tries to attack Ada and he gets folded like a lawn chair by Daemon.
I truly believe Kashin Koji’s narrow path of success involves the suffering of many of the side cast. This suffering will push characters like Sarada to surpass their limits. This is why I think Kashin Koji knows this plan is going to fail and push the Shinju into being more ruthless.

Its true you see this of breaking the cycle of hatred with Naruto in the way he treated and took in the Shin Uchiha clones rather then destroying them.
I think what needs to be taught is no one is perfect; yeah there's some out there that might do you wrong at some point for whatever reason, but you really got to give people a chance. Not everyone is like that. And not only for others, but for ones self.
The shinju kind of remind me of the shin clones from that Naruto novel. If Naruto wasn’t there to calm the situation down,Sasuke killing them would’ve made the clones outrage.

I don’t think coexistence with the shinju is possible in the first place. As extensions of the ten tails their end goal is going to be to produce the chakra fruit, their delving into emotions and knowledge I feel is just a side quest on the way to that. Eradication was always going to be the answer for the shinju threat
Shouldn’t the shinju be destroyed off the fact that they have to save their village members and friends (moegi, Shinki and even sasuke)? IMO it’s an already a predetermined odds with them because of how the shinju came into the world.

I wonder if this is going to end up being a larger-scale version of the relationship between shinobi and the tailed beasts. The bijuu were initially feared, with shinobi disregarding their existence as sentient beings and used them only for power. The Ootsutsuki do the same with the Ten Tails and Shinju. Perhaps in the new story, the Ootsutsuki are in the place the shinobi were during the original series. Maybe Boruto will resolve this plotline before going on to have his final "Sasuke" fight with Kawaki. Of course there are differences between the two stories and it's not a 1:1 copy, but there are similarities. I wonder what role Shibai will play if this is all true - I don't think he's exactly a "Hagoromo" in this situation, since he used the shinju and chakra fruit more than any other Ootsutsuki we know of.

Going by the opening scene of Boruto, Konoha is on borrowed time. It's going to be destroyed sooner or later, and it does look like the shinju are the ones who will have a motivation to do it.
Funny how the 1st series was about growing to become Hokage, and then in Boruto its an overwhelming job where you can't win, everyone questions you, and you have to put on the clown makeup.

Well, the issue here is that even though these shinju are “monsters”, they don't know the actual emotions of anger, hatred, and sorrow. Like Shikamaru said, they are like baby cubs, they do not intend harm but go with their instincts, but as they begin to absorb more information and go through more experiences, they gain another sense of reality or awareness. So by Shikamaru planning to betray these shinju, they are teaching these shinju the feeling that comes along with betrayal; distrust, anger, wrath, hatred, and sorrow. So by doing this, they are setting themselves up for the Shinju to want to cause harm misery, and evil, what Shikamaru should've done was appeal to the Shinju’s humane side, teaching them what their hosts were like before they were created, make them feel pity and sorrow for their hosts, even introduce them to their hosts’ families, like Sarada, have her talk to hidari and treat him like her actual Father, once he begins to feel love and support her and whatever makes her happy, she can appeal to his emotions and love for her, and tell her that she misses the man she once knew, the father whom is hidari’s image.
Technically it wasnt Shikamarus plan but Kashin Kojis orders. Remember: kashin is the only one that knows how to deal with the shinju. And even konohamaru said the plan "according to their intel". To be fair i think the plan could succeed as long as Konohamaru rizzes up Matsuri and Ryu walks with his new friends. Hidari and jura know the humans are a threat. Boruto's first mistake was telling kawaki about his limiters. We all know how kawaki's motives is to kill momoshiki and protect naruto, his methods are extreme and boruto just gave him more info which he will eventually use to fight borushiki later on
Tbh, KK kind of changed the events himself when he taught Boruto all those jutsu and shared his knowledge of his power. Boruto was originally supposed to know only one of the techniques learned via Prescience.

I honestly think that Boruto should not have cut corners by telling Kawaki about his limiters. Kawaki is now gonna go rogue and be handed power prematurely, which since he isn't mature enough for his full power, he's gonna turn into the “next Isshiki”, and probably become a sort of dictator character. Since Kawa ki's appearance, we developed a theme of obsession being confused with “love” and how due to Kawaki being abused and never having a true Father figure but then finally finding it in Naruto, he's determined to not lose that, it's a twisted kind of “love”, a false kind of love in the sense of being territorial and not allowing free will or freedom for your loved one, so I think since Naruto heavily aspired to be a Hokage to protect his citizens, to protect order, to protect democracy, I think this new Kawaki will be sort of an “anti-kage” character, basically an antichrist but for kages, he’ll ultimately cause chaos, use any of the citizens as meat shields if necessary and slowly become a symbol of chaos and tyranny, boruto is the “star of hope”, so maybe Kawaki is the “eclipse of Tyranny or Chaos”. What Kawaki is doing is playing with fate, let’s think of it like Across the Spider-Verse, the point of canon events is that they are crucial to happen in every universe, what keeps the universes in check are the occurrence of these canon events, what Kawaki did with Eida violated a Canon event, Kawaki was the person whom turned rogue and replaced Boruto but Kawaki was the one that was supposed to be in trouble, so by Eida defying fate, she avoided the Canon event of Boruto and then since Boruto is also defying fate, he is also avoiding Canon events. Allowing these original events to transpire could've eliminated the shinju issue, here’s the other problem with Kawaki knowing about his limiters, Amado is good at being manipulative, he has goals of his own, I think Amado will strike a deal with Kawaki for his limiters to be removed.

We have to remember it's not something that can't be altered, and KK has chosen the best possible option for humanity's survival not just konaha. He's doing what he can given the circumstances, even high IQ people miscalculate not having all the information.
The shinjus are not human (even if their going through human emotions). You mentioned that the Shinjus may be capable of change (for the better). Ok, but then what? The main issue still stands. You still need to kill them in order to rescue the real humans. Again, Shikamaru is basing his strategy on Kashin Koji's ability to see different possibilities of the future. And if after seeing every posible reality Koji thinks that Shikamaru's strategy is the best route then so be it. Even if it fails. It doesn't get any better and advantageous than being able to see different scenarios of the future. So in the end, it's all they've got. For better or for worse.

The shinobi originally thought similarly about the bijuu. They're walking natural disasters, so let's disregard their status as sentient beings and keep them confined within people to use as weapons! Then we learned that they started off as innocent infant versions, who became the way they were because of how people treated them. There were only a few cases where they at least somewhat liked a person, because they treated them better in some way (Hagoromo of course, the old guy who had Shukaku for a while, Bee, Naruto, etc)

I don’t think coexistence with the shinju is possible in the first place. As extensions of the ten tails their end goal is going to be to produce the chakra fruit, their delving into emotions and knowledge I feel is just a side quest on the way to that. Eradication was always going to be the answer for the shinju threat

I wonder if this is going to end up being a larger-scale version of the relationship between shinobi and the tailed beasts. The bijuu were initially feared, with shinobi disregarding their existence as sentient beings and used them only for power. The Ootsutsuki do the same with the Ten Tails and Shinju. Perhaps in the new story, the Ootsutsuki are in the place the shinobi were during the original series. Maybe Boruto will resolve this plotline before going on to have his final "Sasuke" fight with Kawaki. Of course there are differences between the two stories and it's not a 1:1 copy, but there are similarities. I wonder what role Shibai will play if this is all true - I don't think he's exactly a "Hagoromo" in this situation, since he used the shinju and chakra fruit more than any other Ootsutsuki we know of.
I think kawaki could have been conditioned for the greater good and then forced to release naruto since the foes are cubs that onky he can handle.

Going by the opening scene of Boruto, Konoha is on borrowed time. It's going to be destroyed sooner or later, and it does look like the shinju are the ones who will have a motivation to do it.
Funny how the 1st series was about growing to become Hokage, and then in Boruto its an overwhelming job where you can't win, everyone questions you, and you have to put on the clown makeup.

Well, the issue here is that even though these shinju are “monsters”, they don't know the actual emotions of anger, hatred, and sorrow. Like Shikamaru said, they are like baby cubs, they do not intend harm but go with their instincts, but as they begin to absorb more information and go through more experiences, they gain another sense of reality or awareness. So by Shikamaru planning to betray these shinju, they are teaching these shinju the feeling that comes along with betrayal; distrust, anger, wrath, hatred, and sorrow. So by doing this, they are setting themselves up for the Shinju to want to cause harm misery, and evil, what Shikamaru should've done was appeal to the Shinju’s humane side, teaching them what their hosts were like before they were created, make them feel pity and sorrow for their hosts, even introduce them to their hosts’ families, like Sarada, have her talk to hidari and treat him like her actual Father, once he begins to feel love and support her and whatever makes her happy, she can appeal to his emotions and love for her, and tell her that she misses the man she once knew, the father whom is hidari’s image.

Technically it wasnt Shikamarus plan but Kashin Kojis orders. Remember: kashin is the only one that knows how to deal with the shinju. And even konohamaru said the plan "according to their intel".

I honestly think that Boruto should not have cut corners by telling Kawaki about his limiters. Kawaki is now gonna go rogue and be handed power prematurely, which since he isn't mature enough for his full power, he's gonna turn into the “next Isshiki”, and probably become a sort of dictator character. Since Kawa ki's appearance, we developed a theme of obsession being confused with “love” and how due to Kawaki being abused and never having a true Father figure but then finally finding it in Naruto, he's determined to not lose that, it's a twisted kind of “love”, a false kind of love in the sense of being territorial and not allowing free will or freedom for your loved one, so I think since Naruto heavily aspired to be a Hokage to protect his citizens, to protect order, to protect democracy, I think this new Kawaki will be sort of an “anti-kage” character, basically an antichrist but for kages, he’ll ultimately cause chaos, use any of the citizens as meat shields if necessary and slowly become a symbol of chaos and tyranny, boruto is the “star of hope”, so maybe Kawaki is the “eclipse of Tyranny or Chaos”. What Kawaki is doing is playing with fate, let’s think of it like Across the Spider-Verse, the point of canon events is that they are crucial to happen in every universe, what keeps the universes in check are the occurrence of these canon events, what Kawaki did with Eida violated a Canon event, Kawaki was the person whom turned rogue and replaced Boruto but Kawaki was the one that was supposed to be in trouble, so by Eida defying fate, she avoided the Canon event of Boruto and then since Boruto is also defying fate, he is also avoiding Canon events. Allowing these original events to transpire could've eliminated the shinju issue, here’s the other problem with Kawaki knowing about his limiters, Amado is good at being manipulative, he has goals of his own, I think Amado will strike a deal with Kawaki for his limiters to be removed.
