इस वीडियो में बहुत सारे कमेंट जैसे कुछ कह रहे है कालापानी नेपाल का है, indian army need to go back from kalapani, उत्तराखंड का इतिहास बताओ कभी, काली व पूर्वी धौली तवाघाट में मिलती है या खेला में आदि आदि तो आइये इन सब पर एक दृष्टि डालते है-
1. कालापानी किसका है - उत्तराखंड में पिथौरागढ़ चंपावत व नेपाल में सुदूर पश्चिमांचल दोनों देशों के सीमावर्ती क्षेत्र गोरखाओं के आगमन से पूर्व अस्कोट रजबार(भारत)/ उकु बाकू रजबार (नेपाल), डोटी (नेपाल) के शाही और सिमिकोट/सिंगजा/दुल्लु के मल्ल (नेपाल) राजाओं की रियासत के हिस्से थे। जब गोरखा 18 वीं सदी में हिमाचल व जम्मू के डोगराओं के राज्य तक पहुंच गए तो समस्त सीमावर्ती क्षेत्र गोरखाओं के राज्य के अस्थायी हिस्से बन गए। बाद में जब ब्रिटिश शक्तिशाली हुए तो उन्होंने गोरखाओं को काली नदी तक सीमित कर दिया, अंततः गोरखाओं को सगौली की संधि करनी पड़ी जिसमें काली नदी को सीमारेखा माना गया।
अब काली नदी का उदगम कहां से होता है इस पर ध्यान देते है, नदी कालापानी नामक जगह पर काली मंदिर के भीतर स्थित मूर्ति काली माता के श्रीचरणों से निकलती है और उसमें आसपास के हिमशिखरों से आने वाली हिमधाराऐं मिलकर एक बड़ी नदी का रूप लेती है। यह नदी नेपाल की ओर सही निकलती है क्योंकि यदाकदा इस नदी में धान की बालियां बहकर आती है- कहा जाता है कि यह सब नेपाल के बजांग- बाजूरा क्षेत्र से आती है। अतः वर्तमान परिदृश्य में देखा जाय काली नदी के उदगम के हिसाब से तो कालापानी का क्षेत्र भारत में ही आता है।
2. काली व धौली का मिलन सही रूप में तवाघाट में ही होता है लेकिन कई पुस्तकों में संगम खेला में दिखाया गया है जबकि खेला तो तवाघाट (नदी किनारे स्थित छोटा सा कस्बा या गांव) से खड़ी चढ़ाई पर स्थित एक दूसरा गांव है।
3. काली नदी का बहाव क्षेत्र अपने आप में इतिहास के बहुत सारे अध्याय अपने आप मे समेटे हुए है जिसने न जाने कितने राजशाही को सिहांसन उतरते चढ़ते देखा है।

Dear Ashugeet, thanks for a nice and factual presentation. I chanced upon your vidieo after a long time. Some thing related to boundry issue. Firstly - Indian position with respect to boundry is "warershed" priciple and not ridge line. Ridge lines can be many but watershed is generally one. Watershed is also an international norm. Secondly, the mutually recognised point of common border between India and Tibet there as per China and India is Lipulekh. However that is not and is not defined as trijunction. Nepal claims that Lampiyadhura is the origin of Kali Nadi and hence as per treaty of Sagauli their border extends upto Lampiyadhura. However, Indian stand is that Kalapani is the origin of Kali nadi. Both the junctions between India - Nepal (the Western and Eastern) have not been mutually agreed upon and demarcated. China has a role to play in this as the location of trijunction will ditermine the watershed betweeen Tibet and India and weaken their positions. Thirdly, I feel the claim of being Kashi on North should be granted to uttarkashi. I appreciate your good work and wish you to successfully continue it. Thanks again for the series.

The dispute of kalapani needs to be worked out fast. Instead of playing comment wars in the internet, both india and Nepal should provide historical facts and documents to determine to whom kalapani belongs to.
