There is a circle hole on the top of the caulk gun that when you squeeze the handle, it will nip the tip off. Also, then there is a metal pick in the inside of the caulk gun handle that will puncture the inside of the tube. When you finish your project, just put a nail down the neck of the tip, and it will not dry out! There are little tips that most people don't know!

What I liked is you showed where things didn’t work just right and then how you adjusted things to fix it.

Hi, thanks for this tutorial as im honestly thinking of making my own molds instead of buying all the time to save money, so I will get ingredients and try my hand at this method

if you soap your hands dry first and let it dry, it will help keep your hands clean even if you're a bit short on soap in the water. dawn is also one of the best mold releases for this type of silicone i've found as well.

Thanks for all information I learned a lot. For your moulding with the plastic mug I would cut from the original plastic mug the bottom off and put the silicon moulding inside. It would hold it perfect together instead of the rubber bands. Let me know if you like my idea.

I think that using some oil helps it not stick to the hands, and also some starch is used by some people

This video is from 3 years ago...3 years ago the silicone caulk was $4 and the caulk gun was $3...
Today the silicone caulk (100% silicone) is about $8 and a basic caulk gun is $20 or more 😢
However....i found a caulk gun for a buck at a little second hand junk shop in my town and silicone caulk still in the packaging for $2.50 at the other second hand junk shop so don't forget to take a look at those places because I've found all kinds of crafty stuff as well as things to repurpose at those places for cheap :)

Try it again with the clear Dap. It reacts differently and has a different smell as it cures. Aslo a little thicker and doesn't come out so soupy.

Cooking spray will help unstick it. It also smooths out the silicone. Just a squirt on your fingers and rub some on your item.

PS: did you know that the hole by the handle is for cutting off the tip? neither did I! And the spike attached to the side is for piercing the inner seal.

The whole by the handle of the fawn gun you stick to tip in and it will cut the tip off instead of a razor blade.

You need 100 % silicone. It's clear. Not the white stuff. It has additives to make it paintable. The clear silicone has a vinegar smell when curing.

Thw reason you had issues was because the silicone has to be squeezed into the water in a way that all the silicone gets wet
It will get too sticky and not cure if you squeeze it on top of itself.

Terrible, terrible video, my opinion, no hard feelings just constructive criticism to edify. U should watch your entire videos B4 posting them to make sure nothing is wrong with them and u and u dnt have to be a media professional to do this, check the audio and the image and that's it.
