There is a circle hole on the top of the caulk gun that when you squeeze the handle, it will nip the tip off. Also, then there is a metal pick in the inside of the caulk gun handle that will puncture the inside of the tube. When you finish your project, just put a nail down the neck of the tip, and it will not dry out! There are little tips that most people don't know!
Hi, thanks for this tutorial as im honestly thinking of making my own molds instead of buying all the time to save money, so I will get ingredients and try my hand at this method
if you soap your hands dry first and let it dry, it will help keep your hands clean even if you're a bit short on soap in the water. dawn is also one of the best mold releases for this type of silicone i've found as well.
Thanks for all information I learned a lot. For your moulding with the plastic mug I would cut from the original plastic mug the bottom off and put the silicon moulding inside. It would hold it perfect together instead of the rubber bands. Let me know if you like my idea.
This video is from 3 years ago...3 years ago the silicone caulk was $4 and the caulk gun was $3... Today the silicone caulk (100% silicone) is about $8 and a basic caulk gun is $20 or more 😢 However....i found a caulk gun for a buck at a little second hand junk shop in my town and silicone caulk still in the packaging for $2.50 at the other second hand junk shop so don't forget to take a look at those places because I've found all kinds of crafty stuff as well as things to repurpose at those places for cheap :)
PS: did you know that the hole by the handle is for cutting off the tip? neither did I! And the spike attached to the side is for piercing the inner seal.
Thw reason you had issues was because the silicone has to be squeezed into the water in a way that all the silicone gets wet It will get too sticky and not cure if you squeeze it on top of itself.
U couldn't figure out for 22 entire minutes of this video that it say: "LIFE" to accompany his other tattoo on his right hand for the famous saying "Hard Life"🤦🏼♀️😮 Well I guess not just HARD LIFE but also HARD READING IN LIFE 😆😉
Silicon and Caulk are two different things, not sure why he keeps referring to decorators caulk when using silicone, also he’s pronouncing caulk as cock , the second time he done it I lost interest 😅
In my long life that is the only way i have ever heard it pronounced. Perhaps different places say it differently? I have NEVER heard it pronounced the way its spelled. That honestly sounds strange to me.
Terrible, terrible video, my opinion, no hard feelings just constructive criticism to edify. U should watch your entire videos B4 posting them to make sure nothing is wrong with them and u and u dnt have to be a media professional to do this, check the audio and the image and that's it.

I was going to leave this exact comment… lol
Your patience should be rewarded, another amazing human, thank you, keep doing what your doing ❤❤ ❤
What I liked is you showed where things didn’t work just right and then how you adjusted things to fix it.

Very helpful. Already got my supplies. Thanks for sharing your technique.
I'm looking forward to seeing your work with resin & you've given me some great ideas for molds, Thank you 😊
Thanks for the tutorial !
Very in-depth video. Going to give this a go!
Looking forward to trying this for myself.
Hey good video, simple and easy to do. I'll be doing for sure! thanks
Awesome! I bought the silicone a while ago, but didn't know how to make it. Thanks!!

Great video! I'm going to try this now. Thank you so much!
Hope I can find your video soon thax for showing this I wondered if it would work! TADA!it did !! yeah.......
This is a great idea. Wonderful video. Thank you so much!
I think that using some oil helps it not stick to the hands, and also some starch is used by some people

Great video ❤
Worked great thank you!
Try it again with the clear Dap. It reacts differently and has a different smell as it cures. Aslo a little thicker and doesn't come out so soupy.
I'm definitely trying this.... thanks 🤗
Brilliant!😂
And next - Flower arrangements
The shiniyer it is the better shine on your resin.
Very useful video😂❤
When you poured the resin in those, did they come out shiny?
Cooking spray will help unstick it. It also smooths out the silicone. Just a squirt on your fingers and rub some on your item.
very cool!
Very nice video. I have learned a lot. Ty
Can you use them for polyresin
I believe the "formula" is 1 part soap to 10 parts water
so what material would you use to fill that silicone mold you just did ? thank you
Can you use caulk with Elmer's glue iridescent and working on how to make a mold out of it any ideas?
Looks like a great way to make a little mold. Plus you make it look like fun. About 1/4 soap and 12 minutes of squishing?
Nice video!
Where are you from i am in Florida.my temp is about 60

The whole by the handle of the fawn gun you stick to tip in and it will cut the tip off instead of a razor blade.
The caulking gun has a tip cutter in the handle!
I see the puncture wire on the side of the caulking gun barrel!
You need 100 % silicone. It's clear. Not the white stuff. It has additives to make it paintable. The clear silicone has a vinegar smell when curing.
Ok i see how to make silicone but how do you make a mold. Something you have already in dip it in the mold
Hoping this can help me make a key
How about a heat gun to dry the mold
I remember a silly putty
That's right...Silly Putty.
You better mix corn starch with silicones. That works well to make a mold.
What are they?
I need to make a mold for domino stands that are 7in long
👍

I think u should wait 24 hours to fully cure b4 resin. Wont stick.
Spent the last 22 minutes trying to read what your left hand says
It says HARD LIFE ! But why does it matter
@@carmendoyle9786 matters to him. He put it on his hands for a message for people to see, so I was curious what it said. Is something wrong with that?
Its hard life.....for sure

Well I guess not just HARD LIFE but also HARD READING IN LIFE 😆😉
I had no idea I needed a cocking gun for my..
Corn startch instead of soap
Very laborious…but easy..
Why do you say is cheap, a silicone tube is 10£ ?
It's way cheaper than having g molds made or buying the mold making silicone.
Silly putty

You probably just saved me a ton of money I couldn't afford to spend; but would have spent anyway because making things is my addiction.
Thanks now i have two toys. 🧸♟️🎮
