@@harshvardhanborgohain1781 Yeah I know, i was confused because some people told me her parents died during a storm. Also I couldn't believe that the cursed man in the series will once become emperor.
There are some mistakes here regarding the books i'll try to correct them as much as i remember from the books....
1- Geralt didn't left Duny's curse: He defended him when Pavetta's suitors tried to kill him, What lifted the curse was that Queen Calanthe finally agreed to let Duny and Pavetta be married and fulfill their destiny then the curse was lifted.
2- Yennefer wasn't kidnapped: She walked on purpose into Vilgefortz's trap to get his attention away from Ciri, But of course that backfired on her and she got tortured by him.
3- And this is the biggest mistake... Avallac'h did NOT want Ciri to marry Eredin: Ciri was a prisoner on there world she couldn't leave any time she wants and Avallac'h told her the only way that she can regain her freedom and get back to her world was if she to fulfill the prophecy and have a child with Auberon King of the Alders, So Ciri was forced to sleep with Auberon and get in bed with him every night, BUT after many tries luckily he couldn't get erected, And one time he overdosed on some kind of a drug that was supposed to help him get erected (that Eredin gave to him btw) and died then Ciri escaped.
Those are the mistakes that i've noticed... Other than that good video. And i recommend to anyone who didn't read the books to read them or listen to the audiobooks cause they're absolutely FANTASTIC.

So.. much... backstory!
Honestly though, having only played the second and third games, I didn't need much else to make me fall in love with Ciri and her tale. My story ended with her taking her mantel as queen, and it was a bitter sweet ending. CD Project Red did an amazing job at telling this story with these characters, and Ciri will always be one of my favorites
I really enjoyed the show, but that might be because i never played the games or read the books.
4:52 there is a mistake: she was supposed to sleep with King auberon, who was still alive at the time, and to become pregnant with bis child (they didnt)
This was just to make it child friendly
But isn't Queen Calanthe lifted the curse with just the help of Geralt and the druid?

could someone explain to me how Ciri is the daughter of Emhyr (the emperor of Nilfgaard), but is the princess of Cintra. A place destroyed by the Nilfgaardians?
Spoilers, i'm warning :P
Cintra wasn't destroyed as a country, Nilfgaard occupied Cintra after the slaughter and later, after Emhyr's marriage to false Ciri, it became Nilfgaardian province. And Ciri was born as a princess of Cintra to Pavetta, a princess of Cintra) and Emhyr (who was pretending to be Duny). So basically, Ciri is the heiress to both Cintra and Nilfgaard, but in reality only like 3 or 4 people knew that Emhyr is Duny and that allowed Emhyr to marry the false Ciri and claim Cintra through marriage, with other northern realms accepting that, since they didn't know that Ciri is in fact Emhyr's daughter and that this Ciri is not the real one. The game kinda fucked this up.
Next witcher game should be focused on Ciri for sure!

I don't get it what does paveta has to do with emhyr? He loved the cursed prince. How ciri was emhyr child...can someone explain to me?
KOUBALHTHS Emhyr is the cursed prince. He changed his name after the Usurper took over and became Duny.
@@jordanofori6542 haven't read the books but i thought that paveta and the cursed prince both died because their ship was swallowed from the sea.
Duny = Urcheon of Erlenwald = Emhyr var Emreis = Deithwen Addan yn Carn aep Morvudd, they are all the same person.

Around the time after Ciri's birth, the sorcerer Vilgefortz appeared before Duny at Cintra as an ally wanting to acquire wealth and power only the Nilfgaardian Imperator could provide. When Vilgefortz disclosed with him the prophecy, Duny decided to return to Nilfgaard to reclaim his heritage with Ciri in tow. However, under the watchful eye of Calanthe, Duny and Vilgefortz thought of a ploy to disappear without a trace by faking Pavetta's, Ciri's, and his own death on a sinking ship while Vilgefortz secretly prepared a way for them to survive. However Pavetta, aware of her husband's plans, smuggled Ciri out of the ship in time, leading to a scuffle between Pavetta and Duny as the former is pushed overboard and drowned at sea. Vilgefortz then teleported the ship from a raging maelstrom with Duny being the only survivor. Though distraught from inadvertently murdering his wife, despite not holding genuine feelings towards her, Emhyr was successful in faking his death as "Duny" and was able to return to his homeland and lead a revolt against the Usurper.

I came here because I wanted context for the Witcher 3, which happens after these events. If I haven’t been at the part of the story where I am then this whole video would be full of massive spoilers with constant videos of the Witcher 3 even though this whole narrative takes place before that game. Who else could benefit more from this video than one of the many people who are just playing the third game?
I've played this game twice and I never knew Eriden wanted Ciri to merge the ancient bloodline with his. I think the game is not so good at times at filling in the blanks. Nor did I realise the white frost actually came at the end, I just thought the snow was because the Wild Hunt where all icy powered up to the max.
Now this is a story I'd like CD Project Red to make ☺

The whole Rats storyline is genuinely hard to read or in my case listen to. It's not touched upon in this video, but the way this bounty hunter went about killing the rats and Ciris love interest is really messed up and the details after it and before it are also messed up. Ever since hearing for the first time the other day I've felt really bad

Which parts? I think it's mostly accurate so far at least with ciri. You cant expect an adaptation to be 100% accurate, even the games have some small things different than the books
