ProTip: When your relationship with a syndicate is good or better (can be made better by doing contracts for them) you can move freely in the public areas and only have to sneak through the areas with restricted access. If your relationship is poor or worse, you have to do way more sneaking.
ProTip: Use Nix' senses more often. Since you play on PC, I don't know the keybind for it. It is not Q - that's the interaction menu for Nix. There's one that makes him "scan" the environment. You will see the outlines of the important people (those who you with to avoid, the direction they're facing and moving).
1:45:50 - Those steam vents on the floor do the same thing as high grass. They hide you. Not as good as the grass but usually good enough. They're especially useful in imperial bases as these tend to have a sh*tload of enemies and having a nice long section of steam to walk in is very, very nice.
24:56 - You need to get rid of your favourite camera angle when you scout. Your camera was position perfectly to hide the button for the second turbo lift. In these puzzle rooms it's often a good idea to slowly pan the room to get an idea where you might able to go. Many loot is hidden that way.
I’m not even sure how to move the camera. I’ll need to check that out. I have also thought about using my Xbox controller for the game. I may watch some videos and see if that would feel better 🤔
@@authygamer - Plays *very* nice on XBox - so trying a controller if you already own one might be worth a shot. There are some quite intense space fight scenes where a controller might come in handy.
13:15 - That's a trap. As you can see these are not massive walls but slits. And the guards can see through those things. The safe way is to hug the wall and use Nix to fetch the items.
ProTip: 40:35 - don't stand in the middle of the doorway. Stand at the side. When you aim, Kay will lean into the door, allowing you to shoot while presenting way less of a target,
ProTip: 56:48 - you'll run into this kind of situation once in a while. It's advisable to disable the lockpicking/slicing minigame on those occasions since the game doesn't pause and you'll be shredded to pieces -if- when you're discovered
ProTip: Consider disabling the blaster cooling minigame. You mess it up way too often. Just disable it and have it auto-cool and when you're more comfortable with the game and the combat, turn it back on. No one will complain about you making use of the options the game provides. You need to have a few minigames active for some ability unlocks but you can disable them once the unlock is done.
Exploring in the early stages of the game can be a bit frustrating because you often need something to progress past an obstacle and you only get that something later in the game. Like a slicing kit, the explosion mod for the blaster, etc.
11:34 "What was that?" Whenever you finish climbing or you exit from a vent, you end up standing. So when you move, you move normally, not stealthily. Be sure to hit the sneak button again to move more silently and to be less visible. But, welcome to the club, I guess we all fell into that trap.
Oh my gosh I actually cut out a good 30minutes of the pyke syndicate, I was caught at least 3 more times 😅 It took a lot for me to learn when to crouch & when to sneak attack. And honestly I’m sure I’ll mess up again lol.
25:50 "There's nothing obvious here" ... a yellow painted climbing frame is pretty darn obvious - at least in this game. It's like the white paint marks in Tomb Raider games.
@@authygamer - Ah. If that element appeals to you, I'd recommend the newer Tomb Raider games. They regularly go on sale on GOG or Steam and they're fun. And since they're not open world they can also be completed in a reasonable amount of time. For the time being - look for yellow painted stuff, little yellow arrow cardboards on the floor, etc. You can set the level of "this way, please" hints in the game options.

It took me a bit to realize that’s what was even happening. 😅
Don't leave cover during combat (39:12) to get healing or weapon! Just send Nix. He'll bring it to you and you're way safer than out in the open.

In retrospect I can see that. I am not use to puzzle games so these types of things are new to me 😄
