- AGV X3000 Helmet Review
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/a...
Based on AGV’s first full-face helmet launched back in 1969, the X3000 brings a timeless design into the 21st century. It might be light on features, but it’s also light your head at just 3 pounds, 3 ounces. The composite shell comes in a variety of colorways, and a clear face shield can be replaced with a number of options to come from AGV. The X3000 carries both DOT and ECE certification. - Авто та транспорт
Great to see vintage old school helmets coming back for us oldies lol. I had one of these as my first helmet
i realize it's pretty off topic but does anyone know a good website to stream newly released tv shows online?
This helmet looks sublime in the matte gray.
Just got mine today in XL size. Always get white as I think it’s more visible and gloss black was impossible to find in stock in the UK. Fits great and really comfortable. Love the clean look and can’t wait to try it out on the road.
So much nicer looking then modern helmets. I want this style as I think it will go with my 2008 street triple.
Will we get a Barry replica, damn I want one of these, and im currently rocking a X14 haha
I just wish they could make these quieter! I bought a torc T1 for the radness. It turned out to be way too loud even with ear plugs. Someone needs to design a cool vintage helmet that is quiet
*I was hoping someone would wear the helmet to see how it fits.*
As usual, Revzilla gives the most thorough yet concise reviews of the products they sell. Good job, awesome show.
Any retro alternative with more modern features? Speakerpockets? I'm thinking about slightly better vents and at least a pinlock....I know it's less retro but a pinlock is almost a must these days. Thx.
Yes, take a look at the Biltwell Gringo S ECE. It accepts speakers but does not have vents or Pinlock. -DrewZilla

This helmet smaller than glamster?
“Italian Manufacturing” means Made in China apparently these days. Saw these good-looking helmets in Long Beach at the recent Int’l Motorcycle Show. For their historical significance & price, I wish they were made it Italy (or at least priced commensurate to AGV’s other Chinese helmets).
Not really.
All Nolan and X-lite helmets are 100% designed, engineered and produced in Italy.
AGV same thing although the shell is produced by a different factory but still in Italy.
Shark helmets are made in Thailand.
not very oval (long from front to back) at all compared to modern helmets, I bought one it's very square looking, very comfortable though
Is there enough room to fit in a comm unit?
"No one has ever made smoking a cigarette look so cool."
Serge Gainsbourg's gotta be close.
The product page says long oval though... Which is it actually?
Which helmet in this style is closest to a shape that fits an oval head. Because with out a giant field of view I’ll stick with an open face. Thanks you guys have the best helmet reviews.
Take a look at the Nexx XG100 Helmets. -DrewZilla

Hey Anthony, how do you think this compares to the Nexx G100? Which would you prefer to wear?
The standard XG100's strap-style face shield is awkward to use, while the AGV X3000's face shield is easier to use. However, the new XG100 _Racer_ has a face shield that seals better than the XG3000's shield. If you want to channel your inner Agostini, then go with the X3000. Otherwise, I might choose the Nexx XG100 Racer. -DrewZilla

Thanks for the info, you guys are the best.
Along the same lines of Adam's question, which helmet is the safest of the two? I'm looking at the Nexx G100 Racer Carbon Helmet.
Would this helmet be good for riding a ninja 400
Does the helmet respect the table size? i've 58cm head and i should choose ML too. Is it ok ? thxxxx
L is correct for 58cm
Would this helmet look out of place on a cruiser like my Dyna Low Rider S or is it better suited for a sport bike?
No, it wouldn't look out of place. The Low Rider S has a classic look, so this helmet would fit right in. -DrewZilla

Does this come with an injection molded visor or is the visor flat when removed? Thanks
It's a molded visor. It is not a flat visor. -DrewZilla
Would this be a bad choice for humid climates?
Due to the lack of ventilation, probably yes, it would be a bad choice. -DrewZilla
"AGV is going to be releasing ... bubble shield" any more info on that? source?
Unfortunately we still don't have any updates from Dainese. -DrewZilla
Will a person wearing the rf1200 fit this well?
Yes, if you wear the RF-1200, you should be able to wear this comfortably as well. -DrewZilla

Why is this dude not doing videos anymore?
Are there speaker cut outs?
No, there aren't any recessed speaker cutouts, but if your ears don't stick out too far, you could still have room for speakers. -DrewZilla
Would go great with the new Kawasaki z900rs
jackwednesday Agree
was it noisy at 160km or more speeds mate?
what are the best helmets for hot weather?
The HJC RPHA 11 is perfect, really great ventilation
You mean the Pro version right? or they are all the same?
All the same
The RPHA 11 is just the name for the European version. The RPHA 11 Pro is the US version that meets the US DOT safety regulations. Also, yes, as Ibrahim mentioned, it has excellent ventilation for hot weather. -DrewZilla

Could be possible to add a Pinlock? Or it will just ruin the aesthetic?
I should correct my previous statement. While you will be able to add Pinlock, it is a bit of a weird look for this retro style helmet. -DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/agv-leg-1-pinlock-lens-insert
This or the Nexx XG100 Racer?
Both offer similar construction and features, so it depends which style you prefer. -DrewZilla
Is the logo removable?
This is a pre-production sample, so we can't be sure of any changes, but this logo is printed on and not removable. -DrewZilla
It's so frustrating not being able to remove those shitty logos. It rins the esthetic of the helmet imo.
Any update if the agv logo can be removed?
It cannot be removed. It is not a sticker; it is printed on. -DrewZilla
How is the safety of this? I felt the bell bullet in person, and it felt like a toy helmet with a flimsy chin bar.
The size between L and XL is just the inner part of the helmet having different size right? The outer part of it is just the same right?
Unfortunately, not in this case. The shell sizes are XS-MS, ML-LG, and XL-2XL. Size ML and LG have the same outer shell (just the inner part is thicker or thinner). But for XL, it has a larger outer shell that is shared with size 2XL. So LG and XL use two different size outer shells. -DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/agv-x3000-helmets
@@RevZilla so it means.. S and M got the same outer shell sams goes to L and XL
@@RevZilla i like this helmet but donno either or not fit into the yamaha nvx scooter booth..
Not quite. Here are the shell sizes and helmet sizes. There are 2 medium sizes. Medium-Small (MS) and Medium-Large (ML).
Shell 1: XS, SM, MS
Shel 2: ML, LG
Shell 3: XL, 2XL
I hope this is clear. -DrewZilla
How many she'll sizes?
There are 3 shell sizes: XS-MS, ML-LG, and XL-2XL. There are two medium sizes: MS (57cm) means medium-small, and ML (58cm) means medium-large. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

When are the new Shields coming?
It's possible they'll be available by the end of July, but with most of Italy taking vacation during August, they might not arrive until September or later. -DrewZilla
Not seeing a lot of ventilation...
Correct. As a vintage/retro-inspired helmet, it doesn't have all the ventilation of more modern-looking helmets. -DrewZilla
Well done. Over sold here for sure. I got mine direct from AGV. Did not realize Made in China. No return because of sale price. BS. Now I likely will sell on Ebay and take a loss. Bare minimum safety and NOT CE rated just DOT. AGV is dumping Chinese crap on riders.
Can you remove the logo ? Is it painted or a sticker ? Thanks a lot, I love it but I don't like to see the brand.
It's painted on, so nonremovable. -DrewZilla
Thanks for your help ! do you think it can be covered with a light reflector ? (not sure how you call these in english, I'm French)
You could cover it with 3M Scotchlite reflective tape. -DrewZilla
no chin skirt?
nope, which is almost always the case with retro helmets, they are super noisy anyway..
I just bought one. It's actually very quiet. The cheekpads are relly tight and there is a sort-of collar that goes around the back and sides (see bottom shot), so everything apart from your face is almost hermetically sealed and the face is slightly squished. I guess there's a lot of sound around your mouth but not your ears. The problem I see now is that with this collar thing I will not be able to install any communication system...

that thing is hideous!
