For all the people saying Kelsey Mitchell is leaving, take a look at the pictures on the projected new training facility. They include Kelsey Mitchell. I know that many of you are saying, "So what?" Here's the thing. There are no pictures of Satou Sabally in the Dallas Literature. There are no Kelsey Plum photos in their team Literature. All the women that are being cored and guaranteed to leave are nowhere to be found in the team literature. I know, you're about to mention Bre Stewart. Well, last time I checked, she was pictured in team materials advertising the squad for the next season, right? Guess what? There's Kelsey Mitchell, right there in the window of the team proposal for the upcoming training facility. If they had no intention of bringing her back, they would not have displayed her picture so prominently, or at all.
@Retrohairstylist They can't legally contract with her until the first day of February. People keep saying that if they want to sign her and keep her, they have to core her. No, they don't. Only a half dozen teams have applied the core tag. Every team has players that they COULD core. They don't need to. The core is meaningless to signing or not signing. Half the teams that have applied the core are likely to resign the player. Half of them cored her intending to trade her. That makes the core meaningless as an indication of interest in the player. Hell, you don't have to even core a player to resign them. You can just wait until February 1st and just resign them. Duh.
I think she would be a great backup for CC at PG, also she could get extra minutes as a backup for KM as well. She is one of the best midrange shooters I have seen.
Just in. The Fever has offered Kelsey Mitchell designation as a Qualified Core at Super Max salary. If Kelsey really wanted to leave a trade of some kind would have to be engineered but can anyone imagine leaving what promises to be a very successful season and a whole lot of fun?
Totally agree, and liked everything you said! Definitely a franchise on the rise, should be dominant soon, and dynasty potential. All that said, there still is time before next season, to make a change and we all must keep harping on the commissioner and officials. They need to either be replaced or cleaned up this year. If' they don't improve, GET THEM OUT!
I agree I used to clown the WNBA for years with my wife as a glorified layup drill exercise!! Then I saw this woman pulling up from the parking lot!! I was all in.. The I saw these other players and like there game. But don't get it twisted Caitlin got my attention.
Other half, get you up to 7 players to be named later. If you can believe the news Satou has signed. Yippee. I’m looking for a guard for CC! Satou has that size!!!!
Hello from England they have a world wide fan base because they are fun to watch without too much drama can’t wait for the start of the season they have class
I wish I lived closer to Indiana so I can see CC, coach White and the entire team in person on a consistent basis. When I heard about the new arena do you know what was my first thought? @The Adrienne Ross Show . . . do you remember what they said about Lucas Oil Stadium? Yep, that's exactly what I thought, the "House" that Peyton Manning built and now this will be known as "The House" that Caitlin Clark built. You heard it hear first folks. Keep up the great content Adrienne and may God Bless you on purpose 🙏♥
Adrienne - Love your 6&1/2 easons. One other thing I thought of when you mentioned CC is that she also cares about her teammates and makes them better, in addition to assists, etc. Will you do a video on WNBA rule changes you would like to see? Like fingernail length, fake eyelashes, etc. ??
Great video. I do NOT think it is coincidental that they unveiled the new facility right before free agency begins. It is so funny thst a couple of days ago I was thinking that thst would be a great way for a team to market itself to potential free agents after hearing the Sun get trashed for their bad facilities
Something about unrivaled that makes me a little uneasy is all of those star players being together for that long in Miami. They are bound to grow close to one another. They could very easily start talking and divide up into a few super teams if they wanted to.
The team salary cap is designed to prevent that. I think it's good that the players are getting to know each other. Maybe it'll ease some of the violence.
I wouldn’t be too concerned. As mentioned the salary cap keeps that in check and the money in the W is much lower than say the NBA, so players don’t want to take less to pursue a championship.
I love it that they're the most likeable. Their locker room remained pure this season in spite of the outside trying to get in. Bringing in new players will be great, but we have to keep the culture how it is now.
And not only likeable, but LH, AB, CC, and others on the Fever are also smart, and not just BB smart, but intellectually smart. Likeable and smart (along with skilled) are big reasons why I like some athletes more than others, both men and women. I'm an old civil engineer who is nearing retirement and I appreciate that LH has a degree in engineering. Two of CC's Iowa teammates (O'Grady and McCabe) are engineering students. So, even though they are not (IMHO) WNBA material, I like watching them play for that reason.
@@skysurfer5cva Yes, great point! I love our little group of brainiacs! I'm not an engineer, but I teach magnetic resonance physics. I was thrilled to hear CC say her favorite achievement was being an Academic All American.
Indiana is going to have a no nonsense approach to situations like the ones Smith found herself in. I don’t believe anything like will be tolerated with the new Staff. Smith should’ve been sat down the whole playoff series against Connecticut
Yes, Adrianne, I totally agree with all your insightful points. I can’t not imagine that the better players in the league… The ones that you would want… Would not love to catch passes from the leagues, assist leader! Yes, I say you would make a wonderful WNBA commissioner!
After a long day of meetings, I sit back, pop a Guinness and watch a thoroughly informative and enjoyable Adrienne Ross podcast. After the Super Bowl we'll be in the back half of winter with NBA and then March Madness. And then... WNBA. I'm just getting ready to think about the WNBA again and my favorite news sources about them, which means Adrienne primarily. Your stuff is solid, with no click bait. I love you for that. I haven't watched you in a couple months because I was busy watching placekickers doink fieldgoals off the uprights. But now I'm ready for my WNBA fix again. Ready for Adrienne!
I fully agree with you Adrienne. I love this team. They ARE likeable. 😀 I liked AB when she was at SC and was so happy when she went to the WNBA. CC just clinched it for me. 👏👏
1) CC. 2) Fevers the most likable team in the W 3) Coaching staff 4) Management 5) Packed Arenas 6) Players that are fast, energetic and so young 61/2) The indiania Women's Center of the USA by CC the Effect. I agree 💯. Everybody wants to be CC'S teammate, and everybody knows the Fevers are America's BB team.
As much as I don't subscribe to "envy" because "envy" disconnects us...things that will help them self actualize their dreams, and those dreams others that LOVE the GAME of basketball...will be looking at and feeling empowered as WOMYN to play the sport and watch, Indiana is breaking the glass ceiling, and allowing womyn to DREAM bigger and LOVE basketball
The upcoming season is getting more exciting by the minute! Man, I can hardly wait! This training facility will be the icing on the cake. With that and the top-level training staff, the future is very exciting indeed. Do you think this could be why CC went to the Nike HQ? Phil Knight designed and built a Class A training facility for the Oregon Ducks. Idk Just a thought.
I agree with everything. What I'm waiting for is for indiana to become the first team to do open tryouts, for young girls who didn't have the opportunity to go to college, but have the talent/ability to play basketball at a high level.
Great list - you mentioned how they ran this year. I think they’re gonna be the fastest team in the league. Possibly the fastest team for a few years because of their youthfulness. I just can’t wait for May to get here.
In the late 70’s the Dallas Cowboys were called “America’s Team”, it looks like the Indiana Fever might inherit that mantle, that would be a GREAT thing for women’s basketball
Both can be true. We love Caitlin, but this was in the works before she got here. They are also putting in a 170 room hotel and parking west of Gainbridge with a skywalk. Both by the architecture firm Populous. The Capital Improvement Board debated giving Simon $40M in forgiveable loans for the hotel and sports entertainment center in November. You don’t walk into those meetings without some already well developed architectural plans. Yes, we love Caitlin, but these drawings weren’t done yesterday. Fox 59 reported on this in June 2024 so they were already well under way. Be excited, but report the facts.
Add one more thing. Arguably the greatest player of all time, Larry Bird mentioned that in retirement, he watches follows two teams. His alma mater Indiana State. Aand Iowa women’s basketball. Because of Caitlin Clark. He was Karla Krauskopf’s boss for years, and probably recommended her for her present job. He was cut in the sme mentality as Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan. Driven and focused. Except for his fifteen year playing career, over , over a half century of his life have been focused on improving Indiana basketball.

Adrienne my girl, I was messaging to another poster watching the UConn game with Paige back. And he said "see, as good as Clark, she's just logo 3's." and I said "I don't think its logo 3's exciting as they are. Was watching Paige play and she's great, but something was missing, not just style. Then I realized, Caitlin is like a field general out there arranging the floor, choosing attack vectors, pinpoint passing, receivers etc. No one else has that. In sports the ability to command and your teammates listen, only comes from respect. And she's a Rookie!
AR ~ good call on the "likability" of the Fever. As for acknowledging the coaching staff ~ these people like Porter are typically the unsung backbone of an ascending team
Good stuff here. I think you are a bit premature on the coaching staff at #3. I will give you that it gives hope, but it's not a done deal yet. We could find, in 3 years, that it's a negative. I'm also glad you only give the facility announcement 1/2 a point. This was very likely going to happen regardless of what is happening with the Fever last year or the Caitlin Clark effect. Perhaps some design changes were made, along with the outside branding. But, given the location, the plans of the city, etc. The difference is, this would have had a Pacer logo on it otherwise. Not only that, but the Fever facilities were already top 5 in the league. Nevertheless, the new shiny objects do attract...
#5, reason Kelsey Mitchell will retire with Fever... First 2024 pre-season home game ... Kelsey was hooked... She spent 6 years with Fever with empty seats...
Hey yo, Adrienne 😊 You left out the almost certainty of multiple championship rings. Admittedly, that one isn't necessarily guaranteed, but it would be very surprising if it doesn't happen.
i believe that the wbna has taken the Fever games off of regular ticket sales is not so much for the extra money as it does in making the teams home games with the Fever as exspensive as possible with the hope Fever fans will not be able to attend or be as few as possible. I hope not one fever fan buys any of the package deals from any team and we will them be able to see just how much fan support they generate.
I think it would be great if the Fever did a fan of the gane sort of think where they randomly pick a fan or 2 for hame fansare picked by computer to get their seats changed to courtside tickets and it is done in the pregame warm ups. If a person bought 2 seats both fans each get the seat based on the numbar of seats they perchaced.
I think you forgot about another, very important exhibit to bolster your argument: this team, especially the starters, are team-oriented, and have high basketball IQs. This means that if you're on the floor and don't have the ball, if you can get open for a good shot, there's a good chance you'll get the ball unless another teammate gets open for a better shot; or if you are beyond your shooting range, you can set a screen to free your ball handler to get an open shot, or if your defender switches to guard the ball handler, you've created a pick and roll situation (and with CC's shooting range, a screen could be set just past the mid-court line). Conversely, if you have the ball you know that your teammates are trying to get open to receive a pass or getting in position to set a screen to free you to take a shot.
The W won't let them get another big name. They want to grow the game so they are probly telling other stars they can't go there. They want people to watch teams other than the Fever. I'd be surprised if the Fever land a BIG name. They will get a role player or 2 but not a BIG name.
You're correct but sometimes players go to a place where they want to live. Some like the big city, others might like outdoors(Phoenix/Minnesota) maybe some like Las Vegas. Sometimes it's about family location and Indiana is farther from most population centers. Of course, BB is #1 in Indiana (more than anywhere else) but it seems to have the least to offer in terms of a fun place to live. In addition, we've seen that some players indicate that they don't feel comfortable with the demographics and/or politics of the state. There are other teams that MJ could have gone to and probably have won 15 championships but he seemed loyal to a disloyal organization.
@@GaryPlaisted-h5q When I was a kid in the mid-1960s, we lived in a typical central California starter home tract neighborhood (houses 1300 sf to 1800 sf, average schools, etc.). And, we had a 2nd or 3rd stringer from the Philadelphia Eagles living down the block for a couple of years (I don't remember his name or his position). He was a really nice single guy, and he and my dad (who had played football in high school) would sometimes toss the football on weekends. As I recall, he was originally from California, but had no direct tie to our city except for the off-season job that he got here. The guy lived in our neighborhood because backups didn't make very much back then and our houses were a good value. During the season, he probably just rented a small apartment in Philly.

Yes Angel Reese , when she played with Caitlin Clark on the All Star Team , she seem to play better or to me she did . And what I mean with Angle Reese played better is she made more of her lay ups and on the first shot instead of making it after her 3rd or 4th rebound lay ups done by Angle Reese before getting it in the basket .

@ she’s not, they contracted her.
Duh.
Hope your correct about Grace Berger getting a chance to shine.
Eyeballs could have been 7.5. I never heard of kelsi mitchell. Once I saw her play I loved her game and attitude.
I agree I used to clown the WNBA for years with my wife as a glorified layup drill exercise!! Then I saw this woman pulling up from the parking lot!! I was all in.. The I saw these other players and like there game. But don't get it twisted Caitlin got my attention.
My goodness gracious, I can hardly wait for this one❤❤❤!
Adrienne I still would ❤to see you as the Commissioner of the WNBA ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
That would be something! Hahaha!
I agree!!
Can we draft her for that?
@@3rdoldhen 😁
@TheAdrienneRossShow please do this for us and save the WNBA
When this fantastic place opens I'd love to see it I'd it's open for us to see! I'm only 1 1/2 hour from there!
Quita made a video if you want to see it right away, or, wait for Ms Ross
This is my favorite YT channel.
I LOVE your perspective! So refreshing and up beat. 🙌👏💯
Thanks ARC...🎉😊
I agree totally. As well they should. CC..new facility...happy teammates...yup
Yes we(#FEVER) bringing it!
Other half, get you up to 7 players to be named later. If you can believe the news Satou has signed. Yippee. I’m looking for a guard for CC! Satou has that size!!!!
YES your awards show ROCKED!!! Thank you!
Hello from England they have a world wide fan base because they are fun to watch without too much drama can’t wait for the start of the season they have class
Uk his watching the fever
The W is going big time!
I'm planning to visit Indianapolis in July for the all star game. Anyone else going?
I’m not going to all star but am flying out for a game in September. Well not going yet. I need to find a hotel first
I think the new facility deserves to be the full 7th reason 😊
It deserves its own video, which is uploading now. 😉
But it won't be available until 2027
@@JE-IC time moves fast
@@JE-IC Building something that size in the middle of a city takes time.
The SuperStar Effects #CC22
Just saw that they cored Kelsey Mitchell
That is not unusual
The point is not that it's unusual, Lindsey - the point is simply that that just happened.
You mean like how you saw that Sabally had already joined the Fever?
Love tuning in thanks😊
They're trying to get Caitlan to stay in Indy like Reggie Miller
Just announced that the Fever have cored Kelsey Mitchell!❤❤❤
I wish I lived closer to Indiana so I can see CC, coach White and the entire team in person on a consistent basis. When I heard about the new arena do you know what was my first thought? @The Adrienne Ross Show . . . do you remember what they said about Lucas Oil Stadium? Yep, that's exactly what I thought, the "House" that Peyton Manning built and now this will be known as "The House" that Caitlin Clark built. You heard it hear first folks. Keep up the great content Adrienne and may God Bless you on purpose 🙏♥
The'll be on TV 34 times this year
Spot on 😀 ohhhhh yeaah packed arenas crrraaazzzzy, waiting and not patiently for season to start and who is joining fever team.
I haven't done such a video per se, but months ago, I did a video about 5 things I would change ASAP if I were WNBA commissioner.
They already are the Envy😂 They really gonna be hating on them with the new state of the art set up their building😅
Kelsey just got cored with a one year extension.
The Indiana Fever will be the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton of the NBA. Others will be considered Holiday Inns. Where would you choose to stay???
I'm feeling "Mama" Lou is going to have a breakout season. We are gonna get to see Grace Berger ball out. Victaria get some shine time.
You’re right!! I really like the FEVER players too!!🏀🏀🏀
Yep
You are so smart and so right! Thank you.
I agree with everything. What I'm waiting for is for indiana to become the first team to do open tryouts, for young girls who didn't have the opportunity to go to college, but have the talent/ability to play basketball at a high level.
❤❤❤
I remembered Space Jam & Lola character like CC..
Great list - you mentioned how they ran this year. I think they’re gonna be the fastest team in the league. Possibly the fastest team for a few years because of their youthfulness. I just can’t wait for May to get here.
I love that new assistant coach she's working with. I bet hell do wonders for her game 💪🏾
How about money? Ask Kate Martin how useful it was for her career to be associated with C22...
The fanbase! Indiana loves their basketball! 🏀
The one huge reason is they want to play b ball and not be activists.
In the late 70’s the Dallas Cowboys were called “America’s Team”, it looks like the Indiana Fever might inherit that mantle, that would be a GREAT thing for women’s basketball
SAY IT SISTA!!!!!
Mitchel is from Cincinnati , Indy is less than a two hour drive
Pacer team support is very positive.
Indiana didn’t have drama ???? Omg wth 😂😂
What drama are you talking about?
@ the fan base versus the actual team how you guys think those Fever players and opposing teams forgot how yall talked bad about them when they were 0-8 lol
@ What I specifically said was not the kind of drama other teams had. As far as the fan base, I meant real drama, not contrived troll drama we saw no evidence of.
@@TheAdrienneRossShow the blinders lord smh all wnba drama was centered around the fever majority of the season but I understand the new fans don’t see it that way
The team was one of the least drama teams in the league. The fans on the other hand…
I loved your award show from 2024…..except for the coach of the year! I left that comment at the time and you kindly replied…thank you! Sorry, that particular coach really has a bad attitude! Love your channel!
I think that the money in the cap space is also important. The Fever can pay players to come to Indiana.
Bringing a championship home to Indy!
Ms AR, if you being offered as one of the coaching staff, are you willing to accept the offer?
Considering that you could do 4 and 1/2 on Caitlin Clark alone without trying, I would say that there are clearly far more than 6 and a half.
Kelsey, Temi, and Wheeler won me over as people. I had heard of Kelsey Mitchell but knew nothing about the others.
#5, reason Kelsey Mitchell will retire with Fever...
First 2024 pre-season home game ...
Kelsey was hooked...
She spent 6 years with Fever with empty seats...
Lawyer mode = Atticus
Hey yo, Adrienne 😊 You left out the almost certainty of multiple championship rings. Admittedly, that one isn't necessarily guaranteed, but it would be very surprising if it doesn't happen.
Let's go!
Don't think to many of the lesbians would.
i believe that the wbna has taken the Fever games off of regular ticket sales is not so much for the extra money as it does in making the teams home games with the Fever as exspensive as possible with the hope Fever fans will not be able to attend or be as few as possible.
Adrienne-Kelsey did to be the star of the team-Dream is the team for her -no expectation there just play small Arena
Hopefully the nuggets with nikola and russ win a championship, just in time for the fever... hopeful things for 2025
U left out ownership
Please … it’s like 5 months! And half the time they’re on the road!
They can live in Indiana for 5 months then go to where they want to be!
6.75 They are in a basketball state. It is a cultural fit. Kind of nowhere--but what is there says "Basketball!!"
I agree with all that but you didn’t mention ownership without their commitment none of that other stuff is going to happen.
Good point! Would that fall under management?
@ I thought about that too and maybe yes but I thought owners deserve their own flower. Because some may be very hands off that’s why they higher management.
@@TheAdrienneRossShow no, it’s Herb Simon who is investing his money to build the new facility. He’s been a champion of the Fever for years, even as they were very unsuccessful as a team. He’s a local hero, look him up.
@@ericMT I know who he is; I was just asking Scott if he would consider him management. I guess not, though. Ownership is different, so Mr. Simon definitely deserved to be included in my list. 😊
Yes Angel Reese , when she played with Caitlin Clark on the All Star Team , she seem to play better or to me she did . And what I mean with Angle Reese played better is she made more of her lay ups and on the first shot instead of making it after her 3rd or 4th rebound lay ups done by Angle Reese before getting it in the basket .
having a summer sports team is important to indy...for mlbaseball, indy fans must drive at least two hours to cinti. there are other nationally recognized area events during the non football /nba seasons....kentucky derby and indy five hundred, both in the month of May....so indy needs the tourism the fever now bring...so yes lets build the ultra practice facility...
