I messed up a bunch yesterday on Father's Day, but it's the one day I get a free pass so I didn't learn anything from my mistakes lol!

I struggle with overthinking and perfectionism, and i tend to feel overwhelmed and stressed when i make mistakes, especially when it comes to content creation and editing. I do tend to realize after a while, though, that my mistakes led me to improve, and they were necessary. I feel like its hard to accept these mistakes the moment they happen tbh. Great video and great reminder. Keep it up! :)

I totally understand! I too am my own biggest critic. I find comfort in knowing though that a lot of what I'm critical about would most likely go unnoticed by anyone else... that is unless I bring it to their attention lol! Uploading daily videos is actually one of the ways that I overcame feeling this way. Instead of pouring over a single video, I knew that tomorrow is a brand new day/ video. Yes, the permeance of having my mistakes visible for all to see forever is daunting, but then again demonstrating how I've learned and grown from them is what makes it feel worth it (provided a viewer continues to come back and watch my vids lol)

@@everydaywayne yeah i totally get it! the things i criticize myself for are usually things people didn't even consider, while what people tend to criticize me for are usually things that i didn't notice myself hahaha. It's funny how it works..

@@everydaywayne uploading videos everyday takes a lot of commitment and courage in front of the camera to be honest, so kudos to that!

I really love this! Ever since I was a child, I always realized messing up helped me learn what not to do. Textbooks tell us what an outcome should be, hands on experience gives us that needed feedback while implementing a strategy to recreate that textbook answer. Messing up is a fundamental part of the human experience. I wish it was more societally acceptable to see mistakes made by those around us and not fear having to hide it with shame.

I think that what we'll find in the near future is that instead of looking as visible mistakes in a negative light, they will actually serve to highlight our humanity in a world that will be overrun with AI. Our goofs will be endearing characteristics that will reinforce our human creativity. At least that's what I tell myself so I can sleep at night lol!

For me, making mistakes is easy. What's hard is asking for forgiveness from others and yourself. This helped to remind me that forgiving yourself can be the easier of the two.
    Thanks!

I end up doing a lot of things "for myself" so mistakes are only ever really seen by me. Like, I'm in the process of learning string instruments and mess up... a lot lol! The real trick is being able to self identify so that you can learn from them. IMO, just getting in the mindset can eventually transfer to other areas in life.

the first mistake in my life was the mistake I shared with my parents - being born. Since then, I've been making mistakes all the time.

Like my kid's favorite teacher used to say "Mistakes are good, they help us grow, they teach us things we need to know."
