It was brought to my attention that someone thought I was eating during the commentary. That was not the case but I'm thinking my headset mic rubbed up against my fat face a couple times and therefore created something sounding like eating. Trust me, I can refrain for the hour it takes to record commentary but I do apologize if you hear that sound.
Me too, my only complaint is that the wait for the second half of the round is to long for my impatient self🤣 I love his coverage of this and The Memorial
Thanks for the coverage, Terry. I have only withdrawn from one tournament. During the second round of the 2023 Idaho State Championships I suffered a brain bleed on hole 7. Thought it was a migraine at the time, and like a true over-committed MP40, I finished the round. Ended up being taken to ER in Burley, Idaho. With no neurosurgeon in Burley, I had to be life flighted to Provo, Utah. Spent two weeks in ICU and another three weeks at home in recovery. So grateful to God, to all the medical staff, and to and all my friends and family that nursed me back to life to yet see another day on the course!
There are a number of reasons but I have some ideas. 1) I wasn't dedicated exclusively to post-production as things were booming. For a while I was the 2nd or 3rd largest disc golf channel (besides a couple of manufacturers that had them) but I was caught and passed up because ... 2) As post-production did grow and find it's way, I also then heavily invested in helping start live disc golf coverage via SmashBoxxTV. There was live disc golf broadcasting before SmashBoxx but that started to consume a ton of my time and energies and as the DGPT grew ... 3) My channel (this one) was only doing a handful of events here and there while we were live on SmashBoxx and people like Central Coast and Jomez were exclusively doing post on the largest events with all the best players. GK Pro and Gatekeeper came along and also jumped into the biggest events with the best players over and over and made great content. So long story long - I didn't stick with only doing the largest and best events with all the best players hence my channel sees spurts of subs only during some events. Plus, my stuff isn't usually as many cameras nor are the graphics as flashy and snazzy as the pros that know what they are doing. I ain't mad about where I'm at ... it's all been part of the journey.
I feel so bad for Andrew. I really like watching him play. I think he made the right decision. Considering the physicality that is required at that level, if you try to play through an injury, you are much more likely to either make it worse or incur additional injuries. As Terry mentioned, this is the beginning of the season and it's important to have everything ready to go. I wish Andrew a speedy recovery and hope his injury is recoverable. Thanks for the great coverage and commentary and thanks for sharing..
Great way to kick off the season. I had to withdraw from a pickle ball doubles final after my partner, who was stretching with paddle in hand nailed me in the bridge of my nose. 4 stitches later. Great stuff Terry.
Thanks as always Terry for providing this coverage! I am not a pro, not anywhere near as good as Marwede, but I've always thrown a 1 finger forehand. I loved skipping rocks as a kid, still do really, and that is where I think it comes from. It works for me and feels the most natural.
Duuuuuuuuude I didint even know myself how much I was waiting for this!!! Since a few years, I am so much in love with this channel and the work of you, Terry! Great work and huge thanks from Germany!
Ahh yes, with two feet of snow and howling winds outside, it is hard to beat the feeling of cozy up under the favorite blanket, get a hot cup of coffee and watch Shelly Sharpe Memorial, thank you Terry for making it possible with all your hard work!
Thanks for the awesome coverage Terry!! Your coverage of Shelly Sharpe always signifies the start of the season for me!! As for withdrawing from tournaments, I've had to withdraw from 2 seperate ones, both in 2023. One, I injured my back during the 1st round and tried to fight it through the 2nd round and just couldn't do it. For the second one, I got a call from a family member with a family emergency and had to basically leave right away. Luckily, everything turned out okay with that one!!
I look forward to this coverage every year!! Thanks for getting the season started Terry!!! Also, great commentary from Parker, hope I get to see him on some coverage this year!
Terry! Your coverage of this tournament is always such a fun watch at the start of the year. Love watching its. Also Parker was a great add in the booth. He’s got great voice and charisma. Really wouldn’t mind hearing him on more coverage.
Hey Terry, thanks for covering again! I have not dropped out of a tournament but I probably could or should have a couple times. (I don't have a full season of tournaments to make my living) so I powered through. One of them the only thing I could throw for drives was a 150g ice sail because I hurt my arm cranking on forehands at elevation. Luckily it throws beautifully up in Flagstaff at 7,000 feet!
My first tournament ever a guy DNF because he found a baby kitten and took it to the vet to get checked on. One of the most selfless things I’ve ever seen. Was absolutely pouring that day.
It has finally arrived!! Disc golf for 2024 is here, thanks Terry and crew! I have had to withdraw from a tourney due to injury...and I sure did not finish birdie birdie lol
Feel better Andrew. You asked for our experiences. I had to withdraw from an NADGT event I was borh TDing and playing due to back spasms as well. All of Andrew's hesitant movements and reactions after throwing were exactly what I was doing too. But I wasn't getting Birdies haha. So impressive for him to try to play through that much pain and still do that well
Love the camera work and commentary- top notch! Yes, I had to withdraw from a Disc Golf event one week ago. I own a business and got a call from the alarm company that my front window had been shattered and the police were on there way. It was a happy ending after all but I took 8s for the rest of my round. Boo!
I've only had to DNF from 1 tournament in my 34 years of playing this amazing sport. First day of the tournament was beautiful. Second day was 30+ mph winds with snow. Our group got up to an island hole 280' away with no drop zone with the wind in our faces. We all emptied our bags and didn't make it on the island. Our entire group picked up the discs and walked off the course. It was brutal!
That's when everyone looks at each other and someone says "Pars all around?" The TD might find ALL his tires are flat at the end of the day. No drop zone on a hole like that is criminal.
So good to see Drew back at it. Seems like a stand up guy and a really fun player to watch. And as usual, thanks for great content Terry, you are a gem. Cheers. 🍻🥰👍
I love that you cover the SS tourney every year. For me, it's the official start of the season. I look forward to this every year! With that said, I'm glad I live in Minnesota where we have an abundance of great courses to play. If this was my "home course " I'd be a sad man. I'll take Kaposia, BRP, or Bryant over this course every day of the week.
I always look forward to seeing this event especially since the Chicago area weather has made playing not suitable the past 10 days. Enjoy Welk with you on the mike. Can relate to Marwede. Had to WD twice in an event. Once after tweaking knee and not being confident about walking down a sled hill. After bad arthritis flare up on right knee last July, still was able to throw but walking the course became an issue. Started Labor Day event with 6 birdies of the first 7 but by the time the 22 hole round was ending, could barely walk and knew I had no chance to play round two an hour later though only one shot off the lead.
always look forward to this coverage! I have had to withdraw a couple times due to injury. working on better health this year to reduce that possibility
I deal with lower back issues all the time. Some days are better than others, but when it starts hurting during a round, it is the worst thing to have to deal with. I hope Andrew gets that sorted out before any of the big events ❤. Great coverage as usual though Terry 😁.
First off, great coverage and commentary, as usual! For the giveaway question - Yes, I had to DNF just once in my extensive tournament history (playing MA50). Bad pain in my throwing shoulder had been an issue in the weeks leading up to a large B-tier. 2 hour drive and I tried to play through it. Was just a few shots off the lead after Rd 1 but the elbow was hurting badly. Tried icing it during lunch and popped two Alieve, but the pain became too much to bear after about 5 holes of Rd 2. I literally couldn't get myself to throw the disc. My brain knew how excruciating the pain would be if I did. It was a long walk back to tournament central and an even longer ride home.
Man it feels good to be looking at the beginning of the season! Thanks as always for this coverage Terry. I’ve never withdrawn from a tournament but it’s been close a couple times. Once because my back was absolutely killing me, once because it was just going that bad.
I’ve never competed in a tournament, but in 2020 I finally decided to go spectate a professional tournament so I drove to Waco from Houston and as I walked up to the course nervously and excitedly a member of the crew walked up to me and informed me that they had just decided to ban spectators so I went to the overlook across the Brazos river and watched everyone tee off from hole 2. That’s the day the world shut down for Covid and I had to withdraw from my first tournament (figuratively). Thx for the tournament coverage, Terry!
Thanks Terry for kicking off another exciting season for us. I have not withdrawn from a tournament thus far and haven't seen anyone on my card do so either.
been excited for the coverage to start again, thanks Terry! never dropped out but just did a bunch of stand still forehands to take the pressure off of my plant leg
It was brought to my attention that someone thought I was eating during the commentary. That was not the case but I'm thinking my headset mic rubbed up against my fat face a couple times and therefore created something sounding like eating. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
Thanks for the coverage! You’re a legend!
Thanks for the great coverage and commentary Terry❤️
If Ter-bear did need to eat snacks during commentary, then that's all good to me!
Terry's coverage of the Shelly Sharpe always signifies the start of the season for me.
It does.
Me too, my only complaint is that the wait for the second half of the round is to long for my impatient self🤣 I love his coverage of this and The Memorial
I wish it meant the season was starting everywhere .. too cold up north to throw 😢
Same.
True! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
First content of the season!!!! LETS GO TERRY!
We were starving for fresh coverage. You're the man Terry
Parker is a solid commentator! Would love to jave him back on again. What a joy that the season is starting to kick off.
Terry coming in clutchhhhhh 😤😤
Lets go 2024 pro disc golf. Thanks Terry for all your work and compassion you bring to disc golf coverage. Parker was great on the mic by the way.
This is always the start of the tour season for me. Thank you for the content Terry!!
Parker sounds great on commentary! Good feedback and his voice has always been so articulate and friendly sounding. Hope he keeps it up!
Thanks for the coverage, Terry. I have only withdrawn from one tournament. During the second round of the 2023 Idaho State Championships I suffered a brain bleed on hole 7. Never had to withdraw, but I've only played in 2 tourneys! I'm hoping to play more this year.
Let’s get terry to 100k this year he deserves it
How is he not way over that at this point??
@@ajbrown5247 he’s at 95-96k not sure
@@JezzyandtheBear Terry is the OG of disc golf. The man deserves all the subs.
It's absolutely bonkers that he's not way over

Parker is killing it on the mic!! Good for him on signing with DGA they have a great team this season!
Feel better Andrew! Take your time to rest.

Wow @jeremydings2884 - thank you so much! Very kind of you.
Thanks as always Terry! Always appreciated! Parker was great in the booth with you as well!
For a guy without a camera crew, the coverage is amazing. Thank you for kicking off the season Terry!
Love Parker on commentary. Need more!
😂 thank you so much for the coverage & clarification Terry. Hope to see you in Rock Hill again this year 🍻
Thank you as always T Mill!!!

Love the start of the season. No unwanted or unneeded extra gossip is always a blessing. Thank you again tery.
The shelley sharpe coverage never fails to get me excited for the season. Thanks terry!

Parker has a great voice and cadence for commentary. He’s a welcome addition.
Also, I’ve only played two tournaments, and did not have to withdraw.
Being snowed in, this made my day!
Thanks Terry for kicking off another exciting season for us. I have not withdrawn from a tournament thus far and haven't seen anyone on my card do so either.
Good job Parker!
Wow this is a treat some winter golf I’m about that life
Someone give this guy a raise
been excited for the coverage to start again, thanks Terry! never dropped out but just did a bunch of stand still forehands to take the pressure off of my plant leg
Damn Parker! Solid Commentary! Like a seasoned veteran!
I love how you had hole 8 shot catch cam style! Great work! I wish the pro tour did this more.
What a card?! Let's go!
