That sucks. I always wanted to start a service business where I would watch vans/trailers overnight while they are sleeping. I would do it for $20/hr. But I'm sure most small bands couldn't afford it.
@@crosswalklarry it used to belong to cookie from king gizzard! I bought it off them when they were saving up to go to the US for the first time, circa oddments tour 2014. It was my main for years, played on about 7 records with it. But I got a second bass for my 30th bday so it wasn't getting much use. Figured they'd use it more
I saw them open for RIDE years ago and met them after the show and they signed my RIDE setlist. I talked to one of the guys (red hat, moustache here) about their album name "Hypnic Jerks" because I had herniated a disc and had been experiencing them for months waking me up as soon as I started falling asleep so I couldn't sleep for weeks and he was like "yeah I get that shit all the time". Hopefully he no longer gets them. They are a nightmare. Nice to see them on KEXP
I want to introduce this band to people but I was unsure how to frame their sound...I love the idea of simply calling it indie rock. Especially this time of year, to call it that is like giving someone a special little gift that they can open up to find all sorts of great sounds.
Yes and it is pretty easy. Almost every modern church band is playing to click every Sunday. Most big bands with lights or visuals behind them are also using click to stay synched.
This was filmed right before all their gear got stolen. This will go down as a historic performance.

I was curious to know about that. I sent them my mustang which happened to look like their old one but I don't think this is it
@@hope_canyonWow, that was very kind of you.

huge day for those who want to live
This interview is insane
Truly tough to watch
Its like actual friends got together after a while but smoked too much weed before catching up
Host is full on AI
I'd been hoping for a KEXP session with them. They had one of the very best albums of the year.
Who else spiritin’ their beehive rn

One of the greatest bands of all time. Well done, kexp.

@matthewwilson5180 i don't make the rules that's just how it goes
my band had the opportunity to open for these guys last year and it was so fun. FL represent ✌️
arguably one of the most adventurous and novel bands out there right now. Incomparable. Refreshing always. What a treat to be around them.

That's Zack.
Breaks my heart how doomed this performance ended up being. I’m gonna be there for the nyc show next year, it’ll be an emotional one
Ah, how I've waited. Hypnic Jerks changed my brain for the better.
I'll be talking about these guys when I'm in my 80s
best band in the world right now

Most innovative indie rock band out there rn
I've never seen so many different people commit to the vibe of
"I'm way too high to be here right now." in such a cohesive way.
This is real depth
No waaay, what a treat. Adore SOTB forever
No one does it like these guys. Great performance

Huge fan this band is fantastic
25:00 Foreshadowing their gear getting stolen was creepy!
I came here looking for this! They must be really cursed 😢
They literally named their album You'll Have to Lose Something
not to mention how this session was recorded the day before it happened… may they be uncursed and recover quickly
So damn good

Looks like a patch sewn onto a regular sweatshirt
Nobody in this band looks happy in this performance, the backup guitarist looks like he won a raffle or some shit 😢
山下達郎、、your eyes..
goated sample
To make all this work, They all have to be listening to a click to be on time with the samples and backtracks? So interesting.
thats a huge reason why i find this band fascinating. How they can keep everything so tight is crazy
