I just came upon this video by chance and now I'm planning on looking for some at my nearby junkyard. Who would have thought the Vibe had better features than the Matrix despite being essentially the same car. Ironically, I was looking into sourcing the three spoke steering wheel from the Vibe to swap into a 3rd gen 4Runner (just as an additional option since its essentially the same as the ones from similar years Matrix, Corolla, RAV4, and IS300 and just in case I couldn't find those Toyotas, Lexus at the local junkyard). How odd it would have been to have a Pontiac branded steering wheel in a 3rd 4Runner. Thank you so much for sharing this helpful mod/upgrade!
The vibe also had a 110v oulet in the dash, similar to the newer 4runners. The matrix has the harness connections, but didn't get the module, switch and outlet. I have all the parts sitting in the garage, I just haven't had the time to make a how-to yet. It doesn't help that this month has been 115+ degree weather in AZ. Thanks for watching!
I been looking into replacing my 97 4runner steering wheel with a 2000 like the updated airbag cover design my 97 steering wheel had basicly no stitching left
It really is a must see! I had a high school science teacher who loved to say "it's a gneiss day, don't take it for granite". It's stuck with me all these years. I say it often but nobody seems to understand it lol.
I built the panel out of 18 gauge sheetmetal. The factory sunroof switches were in that spot so I made a spot for those to be mounted on the side. The switches are just a Nilight 6 gang switch panel from amazon.
Yes it's built out of 18 gauge steel, and I used a Nilight 6 gang switch panel for the switches. The factory sunroof switches are also mounted on the side of it.
I'm not sure, I have only had 4runners and Toyota pickups. I can only imagine that they would fit in a 1st gen Tacoma as well since the interiors are very similar to the 4runner. Thanks for watching!
Has anyone found a link to buy this new from amazon? I Dont have a junkyard near me to salvage. or does anyone know the part number? need to find one in khaki
The vibe catch has no visible hardware, so I'm assuming it just pops in with one of those christmas tree looking pieces. The 4runner runs a screw and a christmas tree. I"m not sure if they will swap.

Just get one from a Camry along with the airbag and clock spring. That’s what I did!
Plug n play
Look into the Slide Out visors on the 4th gens 4runners they should bolt right into the 3rd gen 4runners
Devils Tower! That place rocks! Some people take it for granite

I think I like this more than my current 2001 Limited visors that have the actual extenders in them...
Need a breakdown of that overhead center console

@@zealousoutdoors you do good work. Its refreshing from all the hack stuff that people normally do to these 3rd gens
Love the switch pannel you mounted to the roof in the center did you build the mount ?

@@zealousoutdoors very cool super creative bro
2001 toyota 4runner visor has that feature
will it swap out with a 98 gen 3 4runner?
I have a 2001 sr5, and it doesn't slide. Maybe the limited does
Sick I was looking into this and found ur video my wife kia soul visor does this and wanted it good job thx
planning on checking junkyard tomorrow, anybody know if 04 matrix fit ? does the matrix visors also have slides?
By year I would imagine they would fit. Every matrix I was able to check did not have the slider. Good luck!
Would be good to know what other ones fit. Tacoma?
I'm not sure, I have only had 4runners and Toyota pickups. I can only imagine that they would fit in a 1st gen Tacoma as well since the interiors are very similar to the 4runner. Thanks for watching!
Starting in 2001-2002 4Runner model years, they had an illuminated mirror light and sliders. (From the Toyota Car Features)
Has anyone found a link to buy this new from amazon? I Dont have a junkyard near me to salvage. or does anyone know the part number? need to find one in khaki
Plus the added bonus of a mirror, my 98 does not have a mirror on the Visor.
Hi Mate, would you be able to help me souce some? Im overseas and we dont get the Pontiac here. Thx
ive been wondering about that grab handle too, my 21 4runner has it and it just feels great to grab on something higher to rest the arm. Greav video
What size screws?
I'm not sure I used the screws that are stock for the 4runner.
Another bright idea u have here
I have been thinking about doing that with the fj visor
Definitely a worthwhile upgrade. I bet your daughter wouldn't have noticed if you just swapped for hers and saved $20.
Is it possible that the vibe bolt pattern is the same for the catch bracket?
The vibe catch has no visible hardware, so I'm assuming it just pops in with one of those christmas tree looking pieces. The 4runner runs a screw and a christmas tree. I"m not sure if they will swap.
