Thank you to whoever pointed it out that in the first instance of filming this video I got the decimal place wrong...silly mistake but managed to take it down in time and film it again to make sure that I wasn't delivering the incorrect information!
If you use Ableton, you can select an area on the arrangement view and right below you’ll see the time in miliseconds! Then you just have to calculate the decay time again if you’re using the pre delay 👌🏻. Thanks Fabio, greetings from Brazil 👏🏻🙏🏻

Dope tool. I'm guessing the reverb was on a send channel given that it was set to 100% wet. Any particular pros or cons compared with sidechaining in the original signal and compressing the reverb as an alternative method, other than the convenience of just having to set the pre-delay? Thanks for another great vid.
Great vocal wow , summer late vibes there I get UK garage 2 step vibe on this , dunno why Just think 2 step drums n sub over EP n strings lol Great tutorial as always man
More control I guess? Sometimes you want to use biiiig reverb in the back, but you want to have the dry signal pop out as well. Using your effect parallel you can have one chain 100% dry, second chain 100% wet and mix them in with two separate faders. Sometimes better than having effect straight on the channel and mixing it in with only one dry/wet knob.
Mostly to provide control of the wet/dry blend in terms of volume, but it also lets you separately make changes to the wet dry channels. Even just using EQ on parallel reverb gives you direct control of the "space" in the mix that you set the sounds in whereas using plugins with mix controls means any further processing is applied to both (i.e if there's a resonance in a snare, you don't have to change the frequency response of the room and can just cleanly adjust the snare channel before it hits the reverb)
Good one fab! Here's a question for you. When setting attack and release values on a compressor, could one use the calculated pre delay value(s) to set the attack and the calculated decay times to set the release and get desirable, accurate results for setting the attack and release on a compressor? Thanks!
Noize London Yeah, look into it for me. I'm thinking for final limiter settings in particular - like with Fab Filter Pro L for example where you can get very precise to the milliseconds with the attack and release settings.
Listening to the melody in this example, it has the same 'up and down' meter as a child's nursery rhyme or poem - think 'Row, row, row your boat'.. In fact, the melody of most modern music has a similar meter - that of a child's nursery rhyme. By that reckoning, most modern music is written either with children in mind, or by children - such is the demise of my art since the downturn of creativity in the past 25-30 years.

I did, nice to see you promptly corrected it! Your videos are always interesting, keep on doing what you do! 🔥💕
Thanks for the help Claudio - counting on the Noize community to make up for my silly mistakes :)
this tutorial was absolutely ESSENTIAL reverb timing obviously needs to be learnt ASAP in mixing
Glad u found it useful!!

Nice one Pedro - thanks so much for sharing!
Ya, that calculator is pretty cool :D
I’m using headphones and wow that intro beat is amazing perfectly done
It is also for delay?

Great tip! Simple yet helpful!
You're welcome bud :)
I'm diggin' the new thumbnails Fab!
Thanks bud!!

Ideally do both if you can to have the ultimate control although not always necessary. Thanks Matt!
@@NoizeLondon cool. Thank you!
Nicely done. And now a lame question - where can I get a shirt/sweater like that?
Thanks - and Uniqlo!

haha try not to rip it ;)
@@NoizeLondon no way mate , sorry was just saying I hear UK garage vibe in it oops 👍
Are you using the reverb as a parallel , and if yes what is the benefit

Entirely depends on the effect that you're after. Having the reverb on the send allows you to add the effect without compromising the original signal.
Is there a way u can just simplify everything with very easy and simple reverb.. Like stock reverb.. Anyways!
How come the reverb mix is on 100%? Is it on a send channel? Great tutorial btw!
It is indeed
Thanks

Hmmm something to think about for sure but I'm not sure that would work. Let me get back to you on this one.

I would do it more by feel thank anything to be honest. Math isn't the answer IMHO.
Your video are amazing! Thanks from Italy!✌🏻🇮🇹
You’re welcome buddy :)
Just a simple 👍😎👍 should do for the video Fabio
Thanks bud!
In my Reverb plugin there's no Decay time in milliseconds but percentage instead what to do in that case bro?
MAJOR KEY for MIXING !!!
Yessir!
can you please link the song.
Do you prefer to use delay / reverb on the channel or as a send?
Really depends on the effect I'm after. Reverb on the return as opposed to send can create a thinner signal which is sometimes desirable.
@@NoizeLondon thanks.. Sorry for my bad english
@@FaOut your english is great - :)
is the delay plugin built into ableton synced to the project bpm? Thanks Fabio!
It can be both synced and free

...or you can buy some Exponential Audio reverbs and use the Sync to Tempo option!
Also a great idea but not every reverb has that options :)
Any examples of one that has that option?
@@lleevv1052 Logic Chroma Verb also
Thx!!!!
You’re welcome :)
if mine was 3037.97 what would i put as my reverb time?
good
If Uad reverb can sound less bass like Valhalla reverb…..😅 Valhalla is the Goat 🐐
shout-out to fabio
Before trying to make vocals sound good remove that awful auto tune whine. It'll help tremendously.
my ears work better than this . u feel music , not calculate it . domo arigato mr. roboto . .... ....
U talk too much.!!
That gotta make the video Longer to get paid😂
