My umbrella is in the half closed position. I can crank the handle in both direction but canopy doesn't move not up or down, nothing happen at all

Hi. I'm turning the umbrella counter clock wise to close it but without success. It simply appears to get tight and there is no closing motion from with the umbrella. Any possible trouble shooting tips? The string that run down the middle of the post is not moving at all.

Hi Charles! Is your umbrella in the closed position? If so, when you crank the handle, does the canopy structure move outward but the canopy doesn't open? OR when you crank the handle does nothing happen at all?

Depending which base model you have will depend on the correct steps to take attaching the rotation hub to the base.
