This video clearly shows Arteta understand leadership. The best "followers" almost always make the best leaders. Odegaard is leading by example, outworking everyone (on and off the field), setting the standards for personal behavior and enforcing those standards.
Holding the players personally accountable while at the same time not making them resentful is one of the keys to it all, Arteta stole a fine idea from pep.

I have to be honest, asides official titles and all, the real captain of Arsenal is Granit Xhaka. He is the most experienced player in our starting 11 and he runs the dressing room. The reason why Odegaard is captain is largely because of Xhaka unprofessional reaction after he got subbed against Crystal Palace. Asides that mistake, Xhaka would be captain & Mø8 would be vice captain, however the roles were reversed for obvious reasons.
