@bnbuescher Thanks so much! A commentor suggested "Grit Gains" for this series since the focus is so much on tactics. It's so good I may have to rebrand 😅
Damn man, your perseverance is admirable. I'm no stranger to sub zero climbing but you take climbing in adverse conditions to the next level 😆. Also, one of the best reactions to sending a long term project, congrats!
Thanks! I climb all winter as well, but usually just working moves. Send goes on a long line at my limit isn't something I'd normally attempt. All the tactics were needed to pull this off!
That's awesome! We've used the titles for Banks novels for many of our most beautiful lines as a tribute. Hydrogen Sonata felt right for this one as you can appreciate.

Your commitment to the game is next level man, super inspiring. It's hard to logic climbing (especially bouldering). I definitely feel that sometimes, there is not really a good logical reason, but it's good for the soul (at least for me). Mega sick send man!
Thanks! Nothing is more motivating for training than beautiful outdoor projects - It's a virtuous feedback loop! More gains, more projects, more training, more gains, more projects...
@rmleventhal Nicely spotted! 4 trips and the ebike seriously helps. I'm not exactly going fast with heavy loads. The tent is seriously effective! Over kill for anything but send goes, but it's only reason I stood a chance.
@iandownie9174 each of those took ~1/2 a season. Hydrogen Sonata took 3 seasons. 6x harder? Is that how proj math works 🤔😅 Honesty this is about all I can say. FA difficultly depends significantly on style and relative strength. Feedback from multiple repeats is only way to really rank them.
tell me you autistic without telling me you autistic. same here, watching climbing videos 2 hours a day. cant stop myself from training hard, eating well. people dont understand XD congratz on the send
David’s the Batman of climbing. He may not have the superpowers, but he has the equipment.
My favourite move is the right hand on the arete (with your thumb down, halfway up). So unusual and technical.
@@TristanCleveland Watch my thumb on that hold. I adjust it to a second location as I progress upwards. Wild the nuance on this line 🤯
@TristanCleveland climbing would be easier if my super power was grip instead of motivation, but we all have to work with what we are given.
😅👏 Captain Equipment, I thought that, too 😬congratulations to the send!!
Tactics are everything when you're trying to reach your real limits
Incredible video as always! Your strategies are so next level that they inspire me as much as your climbing!

Came for grip gains, stayed for the grit games 💪
Congrats on the FA!
@@EC87936 Thanks! Oh man, that's so good! I may have to rebrand...

Sick send, congrats!! It's rare to see someone so methodical and creative at the same time. One of my favorite climbing channels.
Thanks, that's high praise!
Killer commitment. Congratulations.
love the vids and all the effort you put in even solo. keep up the inspiring level of commitment.
Thanks for taking the time to comment! I've been blessed (or cursed?) with near limitless motivation. I hope it inspires others!
Psyched dude. What a video. Will never get sick of your super detailed analysis.
Appreciate it! I'll never stop trying to squeeze out more optimization through tactics
Whenever I see a new upload of yours, I go: 'Yeah, what a treat!'. Thanks!
And a treat it was! Awesome video! Congrats to the send!. I am actually reading Hydrogen Sonata rigth now, about one third in :D.
Thanks so much! I try to share the unique bouldering culture that evolved in our backwater climbing area.

Love your reaction at the end of the send lol.. so real. I've been waiting for grip gain ep4 but now I get it. Very inspiring and happy for you!
Thanks! I went over the event horizon this season and the only way out was through.
Now this is dedication! Super inspiring, hell yeah
Thanks for the motivation - it helps!
Unbelievable dedication. Congrats on the send!!!
Thank you!
Congrats man, what a line!

You are an absolute beast, I love your videos they're full of motivation, inspiration and knowledge. Congratulations on the send !!!!!
@dimitrospapadopoullos2101 Thanks so much! My talent is grinding - if only it could be rock climbing 😅
Very inspiring! Congratulations!

@Mobeta Great quote 👌
Congratulations! What a send!
Your will to win is incredible
Congrats! Cracking line!!!
Thanks, it's very unique in both aesthetic and movement!
Hell ya
Unbelievable send, inspiring stuff!
@@DerekClimbs Thank you 🙏
Congrats man! absolute legend
Man, I crave the episodes of the grip gains, but climbing is the most important thing. Continue climb hard as much as you can!

I love your videos dude!!!!!!!
How did you even carry all that stuff out there! the dedication is unbelievable. The tent is a crazy trick!!

Purposed grade?
NS doesn't have any consensus grades above V11. Harder than that for sure.
@@Mobeta do you feel able to propose a personal grade? or at least grade range? or maybe just your perceived relation to other NS climbs?
@arthurkock881 Harder than everything in Nova Scotia except for 3 lines.
How does the difficulty of this climb compare to your other hard FA’s (Player of Games SDS, Will to Infinity Extension, Refined line?)
@iandownie9174 each of those took ~1/2 a season. Hydrogen Sonata took 3 seasons. 6x harder? Is that how proj math works 🤔😅

Seems like some solid math to me! 😂
Sick send either way, congratulations

congratz on the send
I introduced autism spectrum disorder as one of my qualification int he first episode of grip gains 😅
