I also hope Alcaraz makes it, the courts suit him. As for the women, not so sure about Gauff, i feel Sakkari's coaching change to David Witt is working wonders and she seems very comfortable in Indian Wells. She is also physically able to go toe-to-toe with Gauff, and shoulf have the upper hand in forehand crosscourt rallies. PS: nice ending this time! ;)

You're one of the few who has picked Carlos and I agree. He's found his form and I also think that if anyone can end Sinner's streak it's Carlos. Meddy has even said that it's not possible for Sinner to win forever. I would like to see Carlos lift his first trophy of 2024.

Completely agree w/ya re: the Nardi return issue as Djoker's reaction to it w/the umpire was weak & made him look like a crybaby & he had no business referring to Nardi's return as not being fair play imo. Kudos to Nardi for getiing the W. I'll take Alcaraz to end Sinner's 2024 undefeated streak & defend his title too.

I think we were tricked by Zverev quarterfinal. The form and the speed of his forenhand and backhand give Carlos the time enough to make some of the incredible shot we all have seen. But he will not have the same time against Jannik that its hitting faster and straighter. Thus I don't think Carlos is going to win.. But I do agree that whoever comes on top on that semi, its going to win also the final

The oldest cliché in all mens sports the 'I could have beaten you when I was younger' is a curse that plays out in many an aging athlete mind, it was a very average performance by Novak and Nardi very obviously did not cheat so it was a disappointing reaction from Novak who usually is a strong supporter of young guys coming through.

@@DeltoidBeast What are you smoking? Look at his h2h against Alcaraz, Sinner and Rune. Novak is not owning these guys, he knows they are the future and he knows it depends on their level if he will win anything big in the rest of his career. Nadal can have one last shot on clay this year but Djokovic’s main rivals are Alcaraz, Sinner and Medvedev. They are already 50/50 against him (even Rune) despite the new gen’s lack of experience. They were not even in their prime when most of those matches were played. Once these guys reach their prime, he is finished. Maybe Sinner is there already, he won 3 out of 4 of their last meetings. He is not going to lose many more matches to Novak, neither is Alcaraz.

    • @DeltoidBeast
      @DeltoidBeast 2 місяці тому

@@patrikmarflak6559 I smoke the reality, the truth. Something you are not aware of. Novak has positive h2h against all of them, and he is just going to increase the lead. Tsitsipas had 2:1 against Novak, now it is 2:10 :) Similar will happen to all of them. Not having full seasons distrupt Novak, now he can play all big tournaments, and he is #1. When those fired boys figure out how strong Novak is, they will lose everything against him. Novak main strength is to get know opponent's game, and crush it during the time.

Jannik vs Carlitos could be epic. I give the edge to Jannik. Even on this surface he should be able to rush Carlos. And I think Sinner is mentally stronger and more focused. I agree that Meddy will find a way to beat Paul. But then it's Sinner for the title. My prediction: Jannik Sinner will win the sunshine double this year. 🏆🏆
On the women's side: Gauff looked really shaky against Yue. If she plays like this, Sakkari definitely has a chance.
For anyone to beat Iga in these conditions, it needs some kind of wonder.

I am still not sure on what level Alcaraz is. Zverev is terrible at the moment. He cant hit a forehand at all. His mind looks very absent. He went into the court to be destroyed against Alcaraz. I expect Sinner to win, not because Sinner is so good, but because Alcaraz is still finding his maximum. That is fun match to watch for sure, final before the final. Medvedev has no chance on this court against Alcaraz or Sinner. Paul for sure has no chance if he somehow manage to pass Medvedev.

Gauff is having so much trouble with her forehand. I repeat, problem is in her grip. Contact is too thin, she cant crush the ball. Her exceptional athleticism and other shots make her winning mostof her matches, but she must fix that forehand. Only Swiatek plays well with that grip. Arm must be very bent and compact with a body all the time for that forehand to work.

SHOKING NEWS!!! Novak is a gracious loser!
In reality, this would be even more shoking as his real behaviour actually is! Even he would repeat his own words "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? If he stops doesn't mean the point stops?"🤣🤣🤣
Fact is, in a very short time he turned from a Top-Player to a broken one. And there is only one reason why: his new and only nightmare named SINNER! He broke him mentally already, and Nardi was just like "a shot of mercy"! At this st/age, it will be almost impossible for him to come back from the "dark" /to the top. Sinner, and of course also Alcaraz, will be around for the next 10-20 years and FEAR (also something new for Novak) would stand side by side to him all the way up. His past won't be very helpful anymore. THIS is the new tennis reality!

I'm a Fedal fan 'til I die, but I also think Djokovic IS very gracious in defeat. A good example would be his speech after losing the Wimbledon final last year, which clearly hurt him a lot, but he said a lot of nice things about Carlos and his team, made some good jokes and looked happy for Carlos during the ceremony. A lot of times the final loser just says the standard congratulation stuff and then look like they just want the ceremony to end for the rest of the procedure 😆.

Djokovic level is still so high. Nardi played phenomenal match, and I think Djokovic was so annoyed to have so much trouble against Nardi, and that is why he did not performed mentally well in that match. If it is true that Djokovic complained Nardi at the net, that really was not nice from him. Although Nardi reaction to stop the point really affected Djokovic, that is his problem, and cant be called a hindrance. Still, Sinner and Alcaraz level are not near of Djokovic's level. I like Novak cancelled Miami, even though I am sure he wanted to play so badly there after early exit in IW. His focus is on the clay court season mainly because of Olympics. I expect very strong Djokovic and Nadal on clay destroying all young guns.

All you have to do is watch all the handshakes he did with Rafa and Roger. Win or lose he was always more gracious at the net. You can watch the press conferences as well. Yeah during the match he can smash rackets, scream etc but after the last shot is played he's always a gent. If you watch tennis you'd know that👍

Djokovic is generally gracious in defeat, and the shelton thing was after he won and i thought it was cool. But he does have some… well, it seems he feels like he feels he is privileged

Throwing rackets, destroying rackets, shooting ball into necks, unnecessary political statements.
      Yeah extremly graciously...

Novak is definitely not a gracious loser , seeing it since he started and he had always some douchey characteristic, only in the last few years when he had 20GS on his back and was winning big that he was showing being "humble", being humble while winning is easy

I watched the match and he didn't stop play he seemed hesitant but he still approached the net hit a volley and it was a winner people act like he just stood there confused and hit a winner out of some miraculous fate of destiny No he had to do it himself Djokovic should have stopped the point immediately which he can do but instead he's crying like a little b**** and then he drops out of the next tournament he's so ridiculous.

Novax has always been a poor sport and exhibits bad behavior on court unlike Roger and Rafa. How many times have they broken rackets vs Joker? Like never vs 100? Joker also says his injured, losing his balance, tripping, slipping, etc. and then plays amazing and wins. He’s a drama queen and after misbehaving the whole match, pretends to be gracious. It’s sad that he’s such an incredible athlete but a poor role model.
