Being a fan of German cars I’m familiar with their history. I didn’t know the story of Arno and the current affairs of the German auto industry. This is a must watch. Great coverage. Go VW!
@@stivowen5710 You know jack then. I owned one. six oil leaks in the first year, all covered under warranty. And the price of parts should you want to do any repairs is prohibatiive. If you break a mirror for example, how much do you think it would cost and more importantly how long would you need for it to arrive at the dealer?
not really, they are among the best in europe ,check the used car market channels from UK dealers: do they wanna sell a citroen, a peugeot, a mini, a fiat or what ? A VW Polo or Up cause those from 2005 still exists, the others only exists after they had been reborn and melted to new steel.
@typxxilps In the US VW isn't competing with Peugeot and Citroen (brands Tavares has destroyed). And when competing with the Camry and Civic VW isn't doing so well.
Now, they will sell and do sell but not as expected, which is a big difference. But things are changing - but americans do not know about the issues in europe cause now ICE cars prices are raising each year. A usual Polo with 3 cylinder engine is about 115 gr. CO2 wich means 20 gr too much. And the fine for that is 20 x 95€ = 1900 € or 2000$ for every single Polo sold in the EU. Now the ICE car drivers face the 1900€ fine cause the ICE car manufacturers are raising the prices and EV price are decreasing. In parallel 10 year old models will face a hifh increase for spare part prices that everyone has to think twice: repair or new car and if new car what kind of new car.
No, you have no clue about Volkswagen empire, or the Country of lower saxony you did not even know. That owns the key shares of Volkswagen and I am from Lower Saxony, EV are mandatory here, maybe not yet in the USA, but who cares about the USA after the big 3 have fallen how far behind ? Do me a favor: Compare the big 3 production from 1992 to 2025 with the number of VW You will be astonished - and then even a lot more if you compare the figures from 1949 to 2025. Then you have to discuss again who is facing the real issues. Germany has moved ahead and reduced CO2 and Gas and Oil consumption big times by replacing those with renewables. We have built the equivalent of 14 nuclear power plants have been with solar power and wind farms, mainly offshore. I doubt that the USA has such a growth rate cause that would require roughly 56 nuclear power plants - in 1 year alone. We produce over 60% of our electricity from renewables and each year it gets less, we will no longer buy LNG gas from the USA quite soon. We are becoming independent more and more. And ice is over, german manufacturers and even europeans do no longer hire ice devleopers, I mean engineers. Only 2 or 3 Diesel will survive for use in smaller busses, vans and RVs. all manufacturer will work together for a european Diesel engine to benefit from the economy of scales.

Cheap ICE cars that lack in long term reliability may also be an issue with VW.
That’s not a VW problem at all.
