    Your videos are really clear,concise and credible so well done. Question: what’s the best approach to sound proof an office where the main noise source is from airplanes (it’s on the flight path) and people in the house? 3 walls are exterior facing with one wall has a door into a dining area. There is a normal sloping roof with nothing above it (except the flight path!). I was thinking Decibel Acoustic panels might be an option. Thanks in advance.

      IIRC airplane noise is often a vibration issue so try to treat it as such with how this video mentions. if most of the sound is coming through your window(s) you can consider upgrading the glazing (going from single to double or double to triple can have a big effect and overall helps the house valuation), addressing any gaps in the windows sealing or placing something on the inside surface of the glass like an acoustic curtain that will absorb most of the sound that leaks in. sound with the door can be handled similar to windows, address the gaps and look at placing acoustic surfaces on the door (this may mean placing the material on the side of the door outside the room to address sound trying to get in, separate from the internal surface reducing sound getting out).
      unfortunately even with a lot of great treatment there's a good chance you will only be able to address most of the worst noise and the sound will still leak in when its in close proximity.

    The term is "Sound Conditioning" Panels and foam (sorta, foam is kinda garbage) condition the sound in a room. Sound "proofing" is much more involved and requires architectural changes. That said, just taking care of any air leaks can work wonders.

    How to soundproof a room so neighbor doesn't hear dog when I go out. He barks occasionally. Especially how to soundproof the front door in a condo with common hallway, it has double wooden doors, sort of like French doors but solid wood.

    I have a small room as gym in the middle of the house, I want it to sounds better and prevent noise to go outside, how? 😅

    Okay so this would be good for someone like me who streams and doesn't want to disturb others? I'm not like loud, but I'm self conscious of others in the house hearing me essentially talk to myself.

      you would want a few pieces placed to handle echoes inside the room for mic vocal quality and then some treatment for the gaps in the door to reduce how much can leak out, since if there is gaps is like the door isnt even shut. a good panel/fabric over the inside of the door will do a good job reducing what leaks through it. if your wall is like hollow drywall that can be trickier to reduce sound than if your walls are insulated or brick etc

    If I have the goal of getting rid of an echo in my room while recording a talking head UA-cam video. What do you recommend to improve the sound of my video and to minimize the echo ?

    • @myriadrhea
      @myriadrhea Місяць тому

      the echo happens because of the sound reflecting off another surface and then reaching your mic at a delay. you can address this by finding the spots where the angle allows the sound to bounce back towards your mic and put a diffuser or absorption surface in that spot. if you have someone to help, you can sit in place and have them move a mirror along the wall/ceiling until you can see the mic from where you are positioned, and place something there to break up the audio.

    How do you soundproof from farts

    • @michaelanderson2166
      @michaelanderson2166 2 місяці тому +3

      Impossible. They are just the correct frequency to avoid attenuation from any know material. You need to make a vacuum chamber.

    Seems like the Amazon in Canada doesn't sell acoustic panels or either they're highly expensive. Where in Canada can I purchase them? Any Canadians here know?

    • @myriadrhea
      @myriadrhea Місяць тому

      panels often can be quite pricey, however it's possible to DIY some stylish ones yourself for cheap so long as you get materials with the correct properties in mind. if you youtube search "how to make your own acoustic panels" you should get a few good videos on how to go about doing this.
