I absolutely love this tbr. I love that you also get your girls input on which books they want. Can I ask, how do they/you find these books? I would love to get my kiddos input, but other than the library I don’t know how they would find out about books on their own.. or do you give suggestions and let them pick from those?
We regularly go to bookstores to see what new books have come out - even though we rarely buy them new. I always take a photo of any new books we see that my kid is drawn to, to reference later. I also follow several accounts on Instagram that share new releases in children's and middle grade books. I save any that look interesting. I have written lists, saved posts on Instagram, screenshots... I just save, save, save all the titles that look good. Then, 1-2x a year, when it's time to buy some books, I go through those lists on my own. I look for books that go with certain themes or units we're already planning to cover in our homeschool. Then I pick a few for each kiddo that I think they will like, just for fun independent reading. Finally, I show them suggestions from those preliminary lists, and ask them which ones they really want to borrow or what they think might be worth owning. Sometimes we borrow first, then buy. And we definitely have misses, at times! A couple of the books in this haul didn't work out for us, but that's ok. I will just donate or resell them.
That's a good list! ❤ In case you didn't found out yet, (very kindly and just in case), the graphic novel retelling of Anne of green gables portraits the friendship between Anne and Dianne as crush/love kind of relationship. I do know that you prefer non religious content but not sure if you want your girls to read the story changed that way. I don't know about the others. Thank you for sharing!

I haven't watched yet, but will be later! Excited to see the books you guys have purchased. We have just purchased Hearth and Story for my 5th grade son. I'm curious if you are planning on doing all 4 novel studies? I've not heard of the books before and I'm struggling to work out if they are all suitable. We are looking forward to starting typesy this year too. Can't wait 😊
@@siany123 As of right now, we are planning on doing all the novels. I found brief synopsis videos for the books on UA-cam, and they seem ok for our personal family's standards. However, if we encounter anything that bothers us, we will change up our plans accordingly.
