If you actually watched the video, you'd know that the USA does not give rice growers a subsidy. In 2022, rice farmers received a bail out to prevent them from all going bankrupt. But don't let the facts get in the way of your narrative that the USA is bad.
And it's not India's subsidies to rice farmers that's distorting rice prices, it's India hoarding rice and then dumping it on the world market to destroy competitors that's crushing rice farmers around the world, all in an effort to gain market share for their rice farmers and bankrupt competitors. The USA can withstand it, because we're rich and can bail out our rice farmers like we did in 2022. However, poor nations in Africa and South Asia are being crushed and becoming more food insecure due to the practice.

It’s not due to elections that Indian government has banned rice export but it’s due to el-nino effect. This episode do not reveal full information. India's rice ban is temporary. It has 3 years of rice stocks in its FCI warehouses. The stock is feed the people if there are two years of consecutive monsoon failures. In addition the farmers are converting rice fields in to more profitable crops such as fish and shrimp farming. India put ban on export of non-Basmathi verities, that are produced in South India such as Sona Masoori, Ponni, BPT etc., that are produced in the deltas of Godavari, Krishna and Kaveri river systems. The reasons to impose ban are compelling as the stocks of these varieties are going down and per capita yield is also going down due to water shortage/crop migration etc. The rice that go to Africa which is unpolished, broken, and subsidized has no ban.

The failure of monsoon rains in 2023 and erratic weather is bringing down rice security stockpiles. Further, already skyrocketing rice prices in India is mainly responsible for the export ban. Stop blaming the government and try to understand economics. People are already suffering a bit due to the rise in vegetable prices. We don't need to hurt ourselves to benefit the world when people are not kind enough to recognise the reality.

Later India stopped grain export and said if you want the grain we will give you it on a case-by-case basis. India still giving grains to countries who really need them.

Spooked by volatile foodgrain prices ahead of a general election next year, India's government has banned or taxed exports of most kinds of rice and wheat. While India is a large producer of wheat, it really dominates the rice market: its exports represent about 40% of the global rice trade.

Meanwhile the income of farmers improves as well, but yes….when you artificially suppress the price, investment in producing that good is gonna tend to be lower. As an Indian and my father being a rice farmer. I am against rice ban. No one voices opinion of farmers even though 60% of the population is dependent on Agriculture. All these years because of lower cost of rice many farmers lost money in rice production. Many would say why can’t they switch to another crop. They can’t switch for many reasons:
    1. If Neighour farmland is producing rice you can’t produce other crop as excess water from rice would damage yours
    2. Habituated to rice production can’t think something else
    3. Many can’t buy rice so they cultivate for household purpose. Many farmers in india own 2/3/4 acres of land. Unlike developed countries.
When farmers can’t benefit from these price hikes and can’t benefit other times due to lower prices. How should they survive? Therefore Farmers committing sucide is increasing.

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly

Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or trusted advisor in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields

Through closely monitoring the performance of my portfolio, I have witnessed a remarkable growth of $508k in just the past two quarters. This experience has shed light on why experienced traders are able to generate substantial returns even in lesser-known markets. It is safe to say that this bold decision has been one of the most impactful choi

I am a rice farmer, India subsidies the rice because if it didnt subsidies this will happen: in one acre of land one farmer can earn only 5000 rs (65 dollar) / 4months (average indian farmer owns 3 to 5 acres of land and makes 25K rs per acre per 4 months with subsidy from gov). So a farmer with 5 acre will only make 25 K rs (325 dollars)/ 4months without subsidy, that is around 6000 rs (80 dollars )/ month. Even in rural india, a family need 10 K a month to just survive. Massive amount of farmers will leave rice and probably agriculture as a whole (because their land is good only for rice (very clay)). The prices will go up again after few months, but the damage would have been already done. Massive number of marginal farmers will be pushed to famine + skyrocketing rice price after few months all around globe will be the result if India stops rice subsidy. The problem in india is very complex that the US doesnt want to hear.
One more fact is eventhogh India has the 40 % share in rice export, it only exports less than 10 percent of its rice produce, so the ban is not going to affect the local price that much.. SO far, our mansons have not given the rain it has to give(40 % of expected in my state). So the produce itself is likely to lower this year.
