What is the Gran Chaco? | Mongabay Explains

The South American Gran Chaco is the second largest forest in South America, after the Amazon. It extends to parts of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Bolivia. In this area, which exceeds 300,000 square miles, there are 50 different ecosystems and many species that make it a key region for the biodiversity of the planet.
