Why join the Media and Social Action Academic Residential Community?

First-year students who join the UO School of Journalism and Communication's Media and Social Action Academic Residential Community (ARC) are part of a built-in network of students, academic advisors and faculty that helps ease the transition to college. The ARC is one of 14 communities offered by UO Housing where students live in the same dorm, take some classes together and collaborate on projects ranging from organizing events to creating documentaries, podcasts and videos about topics they are passionate about. The deadline to apply to join an ARC for the 2024-25 academic year is May 15.
