In this video, we are going to cover the process of how to remove EPDM or TPO roofing from an RV or camper trailer. Part of this process includes removing the trim and termination bars that help secure the rubber roofing to the RV. The process is not difficult, but seeing how it's done before you tackle the job may make it a little easier.

I'm watching all your videos to prepare me for my project. I bought a crusty old travel trailer somewhat similar to yours in the fall. I'm really excited but also nervous for Spring to come because I've never done this type of work before!
Thank you for helping me 🥰
    Wish me luck!! 🤞

This has been so handy in figuring out how to remove our old RV roof. We're doing it ourselves, and most videos haven't gone over exactly HOW to remove the lap sealant. Thank you so much!

I have a soft patch underneath my EPDM so I thought I would check out UA-cam for a fix it video. Great series and good info on how things unravel.
Man do you like a challenge!
Keep up the good work and Thanks

Hi Chad, thanks for the comment. Hopefully you have way less damage underneath than I did. Keep me posted on the progress and feel free to reach out anytime. Good luck.

In case some else (like me, did not know) does not know what the half circle in the multi-tool is for, it's a paint roller scrapper/squeegee.

It looks like the staples hold the aluminum sides to the corner posts. Is this correct?
The wood on the roof is in pretty good shape considering the age.

    • @remodelyourrv

Yep...unfortunately, staples are exactly what they use to secure to siding. Pretty crazy to me.

Are most RV roofs/structures similar to this one? I have a 2002 Forest River Shamrock 21’ camper that I bought with water damage like this one and the roof looks identical to yours! But I am just curious if it will be the same underneath the mat lol

How do you clean the dirt and sticky stuff off before you put the new roof on? And i mean the glue from yhe old roof

    • @remodelyourrv
      @remodelyourrv  Місяць тому

I typically start by using a wide-blade scraper or putty knife to gently remove any large chunks of debris or old adhesive stuck to the plywood. This helps to get rid of the bulk of the material without damaging the wood underneath.

bro i dont understand why they dont make the roof in a gable or shed roof the water would fall right of and wouldn't stay in one place

Do not reason with the neighbor dog because he can’t reason. Go to Walmart and buy many packages of the .99 cent hot dogs. He will become your best friend. With a little effort you can even train him through the fence.
