It has been a huge BLESSING for me to find Maria and her wonderful Homestead. I am amazed at her endless talents and abilities , and how she lives. When I see the Beauty of the Land and how nothing is paved over , it warms my heart . I am now 70 years old and physically disabled and it helps me cope with my situation when I watch Maria’s videos and see her baking, cooking, tending to the animals and all the ways she honors her beautiful Life . What a beautiful way to celebrate such a special day and how good of her friends to come over and celebrate with her, everything so picturesque and serene and even the weather was kind to her. Igor the spit roaster was very good at his tasks too, a really good way to hold a party and put on the wonderful traditional local costumes. I was in Albania about 3 months ago, and saw a whole roasted lamb in a restaurant window. I'd never seen that before anywhere, only chicken or duck. It looked delicious, and the one Maria and her friend prepared here looks even more delicious!
Oh, you should visit Bulgaria! You'll see entire pigs on rotisseries. The smell is DIVINE. Much better than any kind of store-bought ham. What I love about the east is how it's basically 90% meat, cheese a bread and it's 99% healthier than the abundance of "choice" we have here in the west!

Igor the spit roaster was very good at his tasks too, a really good way to hold a party and put on the wonderful traditional local costumes. I was in Albania about 3 months ago, and saw a whole roasted lamb in a restaurant window. I'd never seen that before anywhere, only chicken or duck. It looked delicious, and the one Maria and her friend prepared here looks even more delicious!
Oh, you should visit Bulgaria! You'll see entire pigs on rotisseries. The smell is DIVINE. Much better than any kind of store-bought ham. What I love about the east is how it's basically 90% meat, cheese a bread and it's 99% healthier than the abundance of "choice" we have here in the west!
