This was very fun to watch! Love the exploring of sound, pitch, etc, to engage with the text. What a cool process!
I'm not an actor, but I am a songwriter and I taught music for 34 years, so I always find it interesting to see how teachers from various disciplines work.
I'm also a huge fan of this play and have always found Helena to be the key, most relatable character in this play.
I really appreciated watching how you were able to really help take Vlada's performance to another level.
She was really great at taking direction and starting to implement your suggestions and I can only imagine what she will be able to do with that direction as she continues to work with it and integrate it!

She was great at taking direction, I agree. It’s not an easy thing to do, especially when you know you’re being recorded!
Thank you for your good wishes. I think musical people often have an appreciation (and sometimes aptitude) for Shakespeare. I know that my background in music definitely helps me to understand the rhythms of the verse, as well as how to vary my pitch to communicate meaning. Maybe “classical actor” will be the next string to your bow!

So glad you found it useful! Downward inflections are actually so key in all Shakespeare but so few people are aware of it.
