I hope Vash is making a lot of money as a part of this group because to be disrespected on every show, by other panel members interrupting him, can't be any fun at all.
Entering Critter Country as a kid in the 90's was such a memorable and magical experience I still remember to this day vividly. Like you mentioned in this video and others, the attention to details big and small to the artistry in things like making it look like the wood railings were wrapped with leather to hold them together, or the bold and cozy color combinations of browns and greens; you really felt like you entered this magical forest. Even from across the park seeing the massive tree just peaking out over the skyline fills you with excitement and anticipation of getting in those log fumes and going on another doo-dah adventure. Everything from the songs to the smells will be truly missed.
Looks bad now that you've pointed out all these things. The ride it self is nothing more then a fun log ride. Story wise it's doesn't flow and it's not that clear on what's really happening. Kids won't know their getting shrunk. The final seems nice but the story leading up to that just doesn't build you up for the final seen.! Tiana should have had her own ride in another area. It should have followed the movie theme. What a sad replacement for Splash mountain.
That poor queue looks nothing like a bayou. What it looks like to me, is that some ESG report or some CA regulation said they needed more water saving areas, and so they added that in to Disneyland, because a lot of that area looks Iike it could be ‘filled’ with succulents. I know someone whose fiancée is a Disney cast member, she works in HR now but used to be a ride operator for Jungle Cruise. I had the opportunity to go into Disneyland back in 2022 when I was there for Star Wars Celebration and didn’t take her up on it, because they had asked if I wanted to see Galaxy’s Edge. Maybe I should have, because seeing pictures of the park it just doesn’t look the same.
Can someone explain to me where this is supposed to be. Honestly I don’t understand the theme. We have a garden, a kitchen cooking beignets, a salt mine and we are in bayou country. Where does the ride take place? In the bayou? If it does why is there a garden surrounding the ride? And why do we enter in a salt mine? Yes I was a splash mountain fan, but I’m trying to be ok with this and it doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m so frustrated with Disney because it seems like they are not thinking things through and it’s as if they have never built a ride before.
Sad thing is removing some of those 50 year old trees. It can get quite warm in Summer time where’s the shade for The queue? In addition the yellow paint is absolutely hideous on the outside of the building.
Hmmm…I think it’s much better in California. Both versions should have more characters added. Dr. Facilier needs to be added. He could have easily been added in the section when the logs are shrunken down to frog size instead of Mama Ode. He could be coming from the Other Side with his friends. It would have worked perfectly well. A full AA of that character is a must. Reggie, Darnell, and Two Fingers should have been added at the point where the logs enter the show building. They aren’t part of the storyline but they would have added something interesting to the experience. A Mark Davis moment. Disney really does need to go back and PLUS the attraction in both Florida and California.
Same…. the entire retheme seemed designed for Disneyland, but that Chapek was being cheap so copied it haphazardly in Magic Kingdom. Seriously, Magic Kingdom’s Splash Mountain should have been rethemed to “Bambi” or “Pocahontas”.
Awesome review! the 'see we told you so' Disneyland reveal that is somehow worse them WDW. they failed this not only on one coast but BOTH! how is that possible! this one should have solved all problems that crept up in the FIRST retheme. Disney should have been looking at whatw as going on in WDW, and prevented THAT from happening HERE! thx for the honest review and thoughts Vash and Lew! :)
Question: what is the latest on Rivers of America. It is such a huge story and issue. I would love for you and Pro to discuss this more. I am hoping that maybe Disney will come to their senses. So many people go to the park for the character of the park rather than the thrill of a ride.
I mean from what I’ve seen I seen that everyone’s really loved this version of the ride compared to the WDW version. I don’t get really why it’s such a drastic change in perspective, but….
T3PO - That Park Place Podcasts Online Can you review the Disneyland version of Tiana's Bayou Adventure? I'm interested in the youtube video of your thoughts and opinions.
Can somebody kick Lew off these shows, he continually interrupts with irrelevant ranting about topics that have nothing to do with the discussion. I can tell Vash wants to point out the details and he doesn’t know what to do with the guy.
@pikminscool "interrupting at times" isn't normally a problem. But that doesn't seem to be the case with Lew. He might think he is adding insight, but he dominates the conversation and won't be considerate to the other panel members. I agree with Equilbrium... He needs to go. Many times, I end up turning off the podcast before it's half over because Lew's personality is so off-putting.
I grew up in NOLA. This theming is so ridiculous. It’s like they asked AI to generate the city.
Wood fences rot fast in Louisiana. That is why the cast iron.

Discord is tough to not be talking at the same time
That Lee guy is the worst. Vash couldn’t get past the first sentence without being interrupted
Don't forget about j Jonas Campbell ugh lol
Sounds a lot like
Call me Chato lol. I’m enjoying the back and forth commentary.
Facts. Couldn't get through the broken bathroom one. Sorry but I'm skipping this one.
The murals look like children's artwork. Amateurish but colorful.
"A necessary downgrade"
I agree with you. Tiana's Bayou Adventure was a wasted potential. I was excited but now I don't care about the ride as much anymore.

Looks amazing in person they did a great job

I can't stand having to listen to people who just constantly interrupt hosts and just like hearing themselves talk. Skipping this ep.

Lunatic Disney banned religious iconology like voodoo so his character would be too problematic for the crappy attraction.
@@SirBuzz - There is voodoo on the ride though. So come up with something else.
@@ChienaAvtzon Where is there voodoo on the ride?
@@SirBuzz - Mama Odie is a voodoo priestess and she is a huge part of the ride.
Ironically one of their ads was for Hobby Lobby
I grew up in southern Louisiana, and watermelon is Louisiana and Texas culture, not black culture.
I feel like you didn’t watch the movie
You say that when a lot of Louisiana and Texas culture is black culture

Is Disneyland charging $400 on top of the $200 admission price for the premium Lightning Lane?
I heard guests saw the “revised” Tiana’s Ride and ran for the exits of the Park. Scary.
Wow, they completely destroyed critter country.
AND THE WEST COAST LOVES IT! Definitely different than what you guys on the EAST COAST were acting like.
In my opinion it feels alot better then WDW
I mean from what I’ve seen I seen that everyone’s really loved this version of the ride compared to the WDW version. I don’t get really why it’s such a drastic change in perspective, but….
Should not the paintings be in the style of Aaron Douglas?

He does interrupt at times. And explains what how things were before untalented sloppy changes.

When a company hires by DEI - idiocracy. and not due to talent this is what you get!
