In this video we go over the iconic and OG “Chicago” colorway on the Jordan 2 released at the very end of 2022, and see if you can actually hoop in them…
The on-court performance and overall court feel were surprising to me, for casual wear it has decent comfort on feet too. Instead of a hard and chunky midsole, there is some degree of compression underneath your feet, and the traction does work on these. This Jordan 2 release fits true to size, and you can also consider going down a half size if you much prefer a snug fit. Some concerns in case you intend to hoop in them, are the collar area being too loose and upper materials being too soft to provide a secure lockdown and support. Otherwise, may be a little unexpected but you can certainly play in the Jordan 2!
Let me know your thoughts on the Air Jordan 2 “Chicago” in the comments! Where do these rank in last year’s Jordan retro releases??

Is this Jordan 2 retro a 👍 or 👎?
💯 Cop! Glad you got these.
👍 it’s the unliked middle child that stands up on there own terms
👍
BIG THUMBS UP
👍🏾
I had an original pair of the Jordan 2 back in 1988. At the time they were unlike any other Nike basketball shoe I'd ever seen, particularly, the lack of a swoosh. It was also the first Nike basketball shoes I owned with a full-length air sole. It's crazy to think that Nike is charging 200.00 for these now. When I bought them in '88, they were on clearance for 45.00.
👍 Damn 45 bucks! I heard they were on crazy sales after the initial launch, but wow that’s unimaginable with today’s pricing 😆 I think no big swoosh or jumpman was definitely a factor.
1988 houses were 30 gs now they're half a mil...I'd say shoes haven't inflated as much as lives essentials....200 isn't bad in terms of groceries ,fuel, bills etc
Idk why but its simplicity makes it more elegant like i can wear it in almost any occasion elegant in my opinion
Do more retro performance pls. Especially retro Jordans.
I’m 51 yrs old. Jordan fan from day 1. I’ve always hated the 2. Never had a pair. Until now. This release Nike pushed hard and made it as close to the original as possible minus the made in Italy part. It’s not about liking the shoe, because all the things that make me not like them are still there. It’s just an odd looking shoe. But at my age I see them from a different light. The history, The 87 dunk contest from the free throw line, the 86-87 season where he averaged a phenomenal 37.1 points per game and his first scoring title wearing these shoes. Nike understands the love-hate with this shoe and they released it in its best form just for people like me. because they knew that’s the only way some of us were going to buy it. In terms of my collection this is literally a grail pick up for me because imo this is the best looking color way of the 2.
👍👍 Glad that I picked up this release then! It’s gotta be satisfying when they stick true to the original form, I can definitely see the love-hate thing still going on but I gotta say I’m enjoying this pair a lot for sure. 😃
The converse pack is up there also but these are 🔥
He also had the greatest high flying dunks In These extremely under appreciated ..
I really don't understand the hate on J2's specially this one. Cause it looks freaking amazing to me.
The most underrated model of this signature line!
Remember MJ wore the 2's and took off from the free throw for that iconic dunk! This is a killer retro. Glad to cop mine too! Thanks as always Tommy!
🙏👍 Thank you!! Iconic sneaker for sure!
thanks for reviewing retros in general, I for one still play on retros like J11-J13. common problems I notice are ventilation, weight and subpar traction. However I can look past those since I only play pickup games now a days.
Thank you!! I agree with your assessment, it’s very true with Jordan retros in general. And for me it’s more like I only bring them out on the court once in a while just as something different from the modern performance shoes. So most of these are still sufficient 😃
beautiful Jordan 2!!
Dope shoe. Not a fan of retros but I can appreciate the history and style. Great review!
Thank you!! 🙏🤝
The 2’s are my fave. I’m copping all the lows right now.
What is the name of the music at 1.34 please? Great review.
Underrated shoe look wise as well
Should hoop in the Jordan retro 1-8 , 11-13 and drop reviews / comparisons
got me sold on these 😂😂 such a classic colorway
Good day sir, I love it Jordan shoes 👟,GOD BLESS sir 🙏♥️
I got the white/gray retros today they are very nice!
me too, they’re fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Does it have break in time and how many days is the break in time
Great video! one question: can you compare the comfort to Jordan 1s? as far as hooping in them??
Thanks! Comfort wise these are far better than 1s to hoop in, but 1s do have better traction on the other end.
Can you play basketball Jordan 2 low?
I really wanted to try a pair,as like you I've always wanted a pair.
But as soon as I put my foot into the it felt hard on the sole of my foot. So as much as I would like them I had to pass.
Although they would make a good casual.
Ah I see. To me they were actually a lot more comfortable than I expected, or maybe my expectations were just low. 😂😂
Do Jordan 6 pls
Lace them up one more hole, you'll get more ankle support.
I had Jordon 5's new when they came out way back when. Early 90's probably.
Do you like these better than the fives that have the OG reflective tounge?
Thanks dig your content.
Thank you!! I’m more of like neutral about the reflective tongues on the 5’s. This past year I copped 3-4 pairs of 5’s and liked all those colorways. However I probably enjoyed these 2’s better, don’t have the previous retros to compare but very happy with the quality & comfort, also overall packaging that sticks true to the OG’s. 😄
@@TommyLiu4 Perfect assessment. Twos preferred over fives. Thank you.
When I bought the 5's, back then, it felt as if I was floating on pillows.
Now I've got PG6's (2 pairs) at your recommendation, true to size. Super comfortable. Perfect really. A pair of Kyrie Infinties (amazing feel) 1/2 size up per you advice. Also Precision 6 pair. Super light.
Can't go wrong with the right pair these days. These Jordon two's tick all the boxes.
Another great review. Nice job.
Cheers from USA.
@@tinhatrancher904 Nice, those are definitely some of my favorites to hoop in too. 🙏👍 Appreciate you watching, cheers!
@Tin Hat Rancher do you got the dj khaled 5s? The thinner tounge and removal of that ankle bulge makes it the best looking 5 I own colorway aside
@@DR.DisInfect Not yet. I love Kryrie. What he stands for. Love my kyries.
Do you recommend them?
I have too many shoes bought from this channels recommendations already.
May by another pair in 6 months. Have to outdoor hoop and cycle out my current kicks inventory...
dumb question. Ankle support. you mentioned that it is a little loose, did you lace em up high and pull them tight??
Oh not at all! My bad I should have clarified - tried it didn’t help much to “secure” it or feel more comfortable so I just thought might as well leave it like that.
Quick question, do u feel super low to the ground like the jordan 1s or are u a bit higher in these 2s cuz I heard they don't have air in the forefoot anymore.
I definitely felt more elevated wearing these. So they are not as low to the ground as the 1s.
@@TommyLiu4 thanks bro! Appreciate it👍
My era we called those hospital boots :/
Hi I have wide feet and a size 10. Is there any shoe you recommend for outdoor hooping. Thank you
Hi. I’d go for Adidas basketball shoes in that case, like the Dame 8, Harden Vol. 6 & Trae Young 1. Durable for outdoor use, and very wide foot friendly.
@@TommyLiu4 ok ill look into it thanks
Aye,
If y’all got a 9.5 over in Canada and I send you the money could you cop me a pair? I’ll pay for shipping if you can send them to my PO Box in Windsor.
The 1st 100 dollar shoe
Yes. Because its a basketball shoes.
You said the collar area is loose but you didn't even tie them all the way up? I think you should try that 1st before saying its loose in the collar lol
Oh I did. But good point I should have mentioned that. So I’d rather not have that tradeoff cause it takes away the comfort for your movements a bit having tied them to the top eyelet, and that still doesn’t help tighten the collar area much really 😂
@@TommyLiu4 that's what I'm talking about lol
Many of Js lovers dont use it to play when in fact MJ used it to prime his name in the basketball world 🤔
Tommy liu to the rescue 🫡💪🏾
😆😆🤛
If you lace them to the third lace hole from the top they won’t secure your foot as well and they make the top portion of the shoe widen out which also doesn’t make them as appealing. They look and fit best when lacing up to the second lace hole from the top.
You’re totally right with this! I did try lacing them up to the second and also very top eyelet, for both playing and casual purposes that’s probably the best way to go. 👌👍
No
Joke back then was... 'your a future male nurse'
😆😆😆
@@TommyLiu4 yes. NY borough teens in the 1980's had ruthless snaps- joke's as an immigrant- hated them :)
Need to lace up shoes atleast 1 more hole....looks terrible
These AJ2 didn't sell well since Jordan broke his toe playing in these shoes and probably won't sell well even today.
JORDAN brand or Nike is the #1basketball shoes in the market 👍💪♥️🇵🇭
its made of bricks
