Just checked on Google and found that Border Collies average years 10-15 and even 17 is not uncommon, but It is always good to appreciate and live fully in the now, as animals always do. My gut tells me Sola will be with us many more years!🥰 Yay!
My Border Collie (Kirk 🖖🏻) lived for 15 years and 2 months. It has been 2 years since he left us and I still miss him so much ... I wish Sola (and her mom) to live a long and happy life!

Lovely video! We have Borders too. Our first, Thalia, died at 15y6mo. Sola has some time in her still. But you are certainly right to spend every summer " ruthlessly" with her. We now have Limmy, a 4y old male. We got Limmy at 8 weeks of age when Thalia was still alive and we knew Thalia's time was running out. That went very well as Thalia brought up the pup, Limmy learnt a lot from her, it made it so much easier on us. Of course we were devastated when Thalia died, but having Limmy made it easier. We believe it is a better way than waiting for her death, than being so devastated "you never want another one" - which of course is nonsense - and decide to take one anyway two years later. I realize things don't always go as planned, but trying and if things do, it is a lot better. Life expectancy for Borders is known to have a modus of 15y and 16y. The reason why "12" is the average is of course early deaths due to accidents and diseases. But if all goes well, they easily get to 15 or 16. And since you take such good care of Sola, I think she has at least 8 more years in her.
I love watching the border collie over in the UK or Wales or whatever it is as they are working with the sheep. That one fellows that has his dogs on UA-cam just is phenomenal.

I had one lived to be 17 and one 14. Generally they are hardy dogs.
